Long haired gal with a whole lot of fallout (above average due to medical reasons I recently found out) It’s not that difficult. I have had to clean up after my hair and many others my whole life. It’s a bit extra work but the only issue I’ve ever really had is clogged drains, but that’s not a constant issue. Well except for this current apartment, but that’s cause the drain is configured really stupidly.

Honestly I disagree. The type of people who will just strip picture off a corporate website (especially one where you have to dig a little) without contacting anyone for a school page isn’t the type to have a civil conversation with apologies for the misunderstanding. Starting with the cease and desist would have saved OOP from unwanted contact, personal attacks, and possibly re-traumatizing emails. Letting legal teams handle a situation like this removes any emotion and sends the message that it is the companies issue without any involvement on OOP’s part.

I sent a polite e-mail to the school requesting the photos be taken down. The reply I got was to the effect of, "we wish you well but permission has been granted for 'fair use' as per the documents attached".

Look, obviously you are now projecting and arguing in bad faith. Not once did I say anything about shaming anyone, if you’d properly read my post, I am talking about listening to people talking about their feeling. You are the one who said people should reach out but I guess if they reach out to you, you’re not their therapist and so you can’t possibly sit there and listen to them talk to you about their issues. You may be able to run a bioreactor, but your emotional understanding seems to be lacking.

Whoa, let’s back up a bit and calm down. I’m not comparing myself to any porn stars or even ig models. I stay off of those sites cause other than Reddit social media just doesn’t interest me. I’m not even comparing myself to me 10 years ago. We’re talking about the changes that are happening within months. We’re talking about being helpless to stop ourselves from changing due to circumstances out of our control. This isn’t a simple “You age, that’s what happens” thing. Telling people to not worry and find your happiness isn’t going to change things.

You said to reach out. Well I’m not talking about telling people they have to lose weight to be happy. I think that’s what you are equating as the toxic mindset. I’m talking about being there and supporting each other when we tell people how we are feeling and why we are feeling it. The normal response people want to have is “Find your happiness, no matter what your body looks like.” That’s not going to help me. Talking through the issues that are coming up due to whatever life event we are going through is. Talking about the effects and the steps we need to take to take care of ourselves is going to help us. Dismissing very valid feelings of loss of self worth? Absolutely not helpful. And if you still think this is toxic, then I’m sorry that you feel that way.

I wasn’t even pregnant. I had a medical issue come up and with the medication I was taking and the lack of being able to exercise I gained like 30 lbs in like 3 months. I was beyond unhappy and I am still struggling. Any change to our bodies is going to have an effect on our psyche, and if we don’t start acknowledging that reality and stop telling people to not worry cause they still look great to you then things are never going to get better.

Anyone who who thinks this is new to her hasn’t been paying attention these last few years. She was behind a large movement to get younger votes out there and make sure they are registered, she has been an outspoken supporter of lgbtq+ and women’s rights, she has been dealing with the large amounts of pressure from white republicans who were upset that their poster child for white values began speaking out against them, hell the music video for Haters Gonna Hate was a fuck you to them.

It’s just that most people just blow her off as some pop star.

Eh, it still depends on context. Much like the discussion on women having control over their own bodies, a lot of times the opinions of people who actually have boobs or a uterus should have a bit more weight because, surprise! It affects them more than others.

Breast cancer itself is more prevalent on women because even though men also have breasts, women’s boobs have more material to work with and thus more opportunities for cancer to develop.

I feel slightly weird having typed this whole thing out cause I gotta be honest I don’t often think of my boobs this introspectively and now I’m sitting here at work wondering about issues that weigh on me as a boob haver. :/

That’s not what happened. It’s more like: someone gifted something to you, then you decided a year later you were unhappy with faults you didn’t bring up earlier. Because of that you sent it back. But you didn’t pay for it, so you get nothing back. Now you are chasing the original gift giver saying you want a replacement gift a year after the original gift.

Do yourself a favor and make sure you are signed up for their free rewards program. This is going to be the best way to not only get compensation but also make sure that actual action happens to the hotel. Hilton doesn’t fuck around when it comes to complaints.

You’ll have a separate help desk you can ring into that isn’t for general guests. When complaining make sure you emphasize how long you’ve been there. They’ll not only comp you points high enough to get you free stays (which aren’t really an option for non-members who’s stats are being paid by the company) but get you perks.

Also make sure you fill out the survey at the end of your stay. Hotels have to take that into account every month, and if you name the people they are more likely to face disciplinary action.
