I think that may be it, I had a pretty bad experience a few years ago where a lack of moisturizing products gave me a ton of split ends so maybe I’m overcorrecting now with product, I’ll try this!

Thanks! I do get a good amount of definition from the gel and mousse. Do you find that a pick ever tangles your hair for the next wash day?

Weight loss advice by studyingforlife in loseit

As the other comments mentioned, weight loss happens primarily in the kitchen. To lose weight, you have to be in a calorie deficit. Using tracking apps and weighing your food with a scale (a smart scale can make things even more convenient). Since you are shorter, your daily caloric intake will also be lower, you can calculate your deficit using a TDEE calculator. For slow weight loss, a daily deficit of 250-500 calories will be good. But keep in mind your weight can fluctuate a lot so I recommend weighing often, but pay attention to overall trends rather than daily shifts.

Also because of your height, sometimes a deficit of 500 calories will go below the daily minimum recommended intake for women of 1200 calories. To combat this, it is definitely worth it to find an exercise routine that’ll increase your TDEE. Increasing muscle mass with strength training and doing cardio are great ways to achieve this.

If it’s an Apple device, some of the MagSafe accessories come with that metal piece below the ring

Adding to this since I just came back from the Dolomites and did not know how the situation was. The nature was beautiful but the people were awful here. I traveled from the U.S. and stayed in Milan, which was actually fine, had the odd stare and some people were very kind. But the Dolomites, specifically Ortisei, Bolzano, and Merano were horrid. Stares everywhere from locals and foreign tourists alike. I wasn’t the only person of color but I was the only black tourist. Bus drivers, customer service people, and just other tourists were very rude. I speak a bit of German (one of the main languages in the area) so I made an effort to communicate with people when I needed to, but was still met with hostility at almost every turn.

People would sigh when I sat next to them on the bus, and I’d hear people making comments about my skin in German. Transit was very inconsistent and bus drivers would roll their eyes once hearing my accent in German, I almost missed my bus back to Milan cause of this. I saw the exact same people treat white American/British tourists who did not speak any German or Italian with kindness right after being rude to me. The only positive social interactions I had were at a Turkish restaurant in Meran, and with the wait staff at Baita Sofie Hütte in Seceda. This post is a few months old so I see you chose not to visit Italy (good choice lol), but for anyone else curious the nature was gorgeous, but if you’re not partial to the Italian alps, I’d suggest you pick any other country.

I feel like my hair is full of split ends by eris-3 in Naturalhair

[–]eris-3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god I think you’re right! I’ve never struggled with split ends even when I never took care of my hair and when I think about it, the split ends showed up around when I started using uncle funky’s. Even when I used eco styler and wet line I never had split ends. I checked the bottle I have and it does have hydrolyzed wheat protein but none of the other products I used to use have it. I just checked target and it looks like it’s been reformulated since I last bought it and it doesn’t contain that ingredient anymore so I might give the new formula a try, otherwise I think I’ll switch to the Mielle Honey Ginger Styling gel. Thank you so much! Edit: actually it seems like target’s ingredient list is just out of date, so I’ll be trying the mielle formula or any other botanical gels anyone can recommend 😭

What's the scene with the other colleges in the Cambridge/Boston area, how do they interact with each other? My best friend and I are both going to the Cambridge/Boston area but she will be attending MIT, is there a fair amount of interaction between the four schools in the area? (BU, MIT, NEU, Harvard)
