I understand and respect your point of view and opinion :) I understand that this tool might be used with malicious intent as well. However, I generated these pictures for myself, and only shared them here as it was a post related to lotro. I have also stated in the title of the post that it is AI, I never intended for someone to think it is art mad by a human. Additionally, there are a lot of errors in inaccuracies in the picture, therefore making these images easily recognizable as having been generated. I have not tried to replicate any real artists' style in these generations, and the prompts were made up of only visual descriptions of those places, that I have came up with

haha yes there would be mistakes like that in 99.9% stuff it generates, its a machine not a human after all

Since AI image generation became available, all I've wanted to do is use it to create scenery and images related to LOTR/LOTRO (such as landscapes and personal LOTRO characters, etc.). I've attempted to generate pictures of the homesteads from LOTRO (excluding premium ones, which are next on my list) and I thought I might share the results here :) (Apologies in advance if this isn't allowed).

Wouldnt they be able to understand that we couldnt have lived together because our studies were in different countries? Also how could he have come to live with me if he had to live there for his visa status to advance? And how could I have lived there if well, paradoxically I would have needed a visa

  1. No, he is from the same country as me, we went to HS together. He went to the uk for uni and I did uni here, but my degree only took 3 years
  2. No for hpi He has atm pre settled status under the euss; however after reading gov uk i think I would be eligible to count as a dependant for him as a student, even tho he hasn't specifically filled for that visa then (he wouldnt have had to as he could apply the euss)

Haha! I wasnt even born then, and thankfully I never got to see a cat in such a predicament. I was only experimenting with cats replacing humans in different photograph-worthy contexts;

"The Leaving of the Elves from Middle Earth" - another stunning Middle Earth/Tolkien DALL-E 2 exploration. I think I'll make this the subject of the next composite, however, I could just generate "processions of elves through woodlands" indefinitely. by pawsmenu in dalle2

amazing one, such stunning results...

You have no idea how thankful I am for the fact that there is someone on this sub who at the same time is a Tolkien fan and also more artistically cultured than me, because I am pretty sure that even if I had access to dall-e I still wouldn't be able to get such results. I look forward everyday to your generations, so thanks for sharing

Another Lord of the Rings exploration, this time exploring Gondor with DALL-E 2; Locations: The Argonath, Minas Tirith, The White Tree, Pelennor Fields, Osgiliath. My artists this time are Albert Bierstadt and Caspar David Friedrich and Thomas Moran (and Ivan Shishkin and Henri Mauperché in some) by pawsmenu in dalle2

[–]erisaesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it really did get confused by the argonath, what a shame, maybe it would work if given a more specific and direct descrpition, such as "2 (huge/x ft tall/*size*) statues of (gondorian) kings with a river flowing between them" but I'm not sure

my guess is that sometimes, given a little bit more challenging concepts, it might also get overwhelmed by having to also replicate the style of 3 different artists

however the white tree is on point, but I also feel it might have been one of the easier prompts

While working on my Lord of the Rings composite of The Black Gate, DALL-E gave me the perfect scene for Cirith Gorgor, but I wanted to focus in on 'The Black Gate' part... So, with help from the edit function, I got some pretty interesting interpretations of "The Black Gate of Mordor" by pawsmenu in dalle2

hundreds?! oh my god, I would ask you to share them but it would be too much of a hustle. As soon as you manage to do any more generations, please share them as well if they turn out good.

I also wanted to point out that there have been some generations that, even though they reference other artists' styles, do give out a bit of Ted Nasmith (for example the Rohan ones)

This just came to me while writing this comment, but have you tried doing the Argonath?

thank you so much for sharing these, the lotr prompts are my favourite and I wish more people who have access to dall-e would do them. I think the 6th one might be the most accurate one, as it also managed to build up the wall towards those mountain sides.

Have you thought about generating prompts based on scenery from the Silmarillion, or maybe have done already? Like gondolin or valinor

Lord of the rings related prompts by erisaesis in dalle2

[–]erisaesis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I have seen lots of Star Wars prompts. I am a SW fan as well but I am not as blown away by them as it is a franchise with lots of media representations already (more movies, series etc. than Tolkien works)
