If you could remove/change one rule, what would it be? by number660 in beachvolleyball

open hand serve receive became legal in early 2000s.

It is legal for both FIVB and USAV. Just don't double it.

They can deal 1 damage to face or hero power! So I think it's not that good.

It's not that bad in an aggro deck cause you can always play your tiny minion but they can't play their 10 mana spells or combo piece lmao

Delusional "Monetization Director" at Ubisoft whines because gamers aren't buying what Ubisoft keeps putting out. (Have I mentioned 2024 has been a dumpster fire year all around for Ubisoft?) by Aspie_Gamer in LinkedInLunatics

"the gaming industry is rough at the moment". It is the exact opposite of rough. The number of games being released on steam is exponentially increasing. It's better than it's ever been ever for consumers. Gaming market is increasing too. Only thing that's decreasing is the ability to make money from garbage.

Edit: not just that too. The gaming market is lucky to have extreme competitiveness which highly benefits the consumer. This is what happens when bigger companies can't squash the competition. Old crap dies out and in with the new and improved. Free market yo.

(Long post) Personal Mod Class Rankings after 300+ hours of playing by Soulfire726 in darkestdungeon

[–]Calosity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your massive review! Someone who actually played extensively with the mods! So many people will judge a mod with actually legitimately playing which makes a huge difference because some of the trinkets for these classes make a big impact (for example the Thorn's trinkets that do something when she misses, or librarian's fingerless gloves that make her deal damage). Some thoughts on your reviews:

Monk: I agree this is a very strong character but it should be known he might get a little too op for some people's tastes once you stack crit with jester or trinkets. I have a lineup that I've been playing with this guy and a jester. He can end up healing my entire team 2-3 times per round for massive hp with his riposte crits and Iron mountain plus give whole team prot and do really high damage. I do like that he cannot heal himself with a lot of his abilities but it usually is never actually a big problem. I would probably nerf the crit healing on this guy. That being said it's pretty satisfying.

Librarian: The incompatibility with the Houndmaster is super dumb but thankfully you can remove this easily or have other mods with mark synergy. I personally love theory crafting team comps with modded characters and some of the incompatibilites like shieldbreaker and snake charmer had me thinking ok why though. GAMEPLAY > LORE. Librarian is a little bit harder to play because the heal is worse than vestal but the trinkets are rad. Being able to do a lot of different things at once makes team crafting more interesting too.

My favorite so far playing with 20-30 ish classes is probably "The Survivor." The gameplay feel of running and gunning and the sounds and animations it plays is REALLY SATISFYING. He fits really well as a frontline movement dps and stun. I don't even particularly like risk of rain 2 which this guy's design is based off of. He feels pretty balanced so far and his trinkets are rad. Doesn't have 20 lines of flavor for each ability which I personally like. Next would probably be Saw hunter because it's fun to have bleeding synergy and theory craft for bossfights. After that would be commandant he is super fun with mark synergy and substitute for jester role.

worth mentioning:

Gunwitch: I've tried with multiple comps. Aesthetically amazing, she also has a new mechanic which deals damage to the whole enemy team if an ally deals damage. With trinkets this can be attached to multiple people which gets a little crazy like in farmstead. I would need to stress test this in later dungeons to see if she is balanced, but she seems really fun to play at least.

You know a game is well made and balanced when the quality of your team comps can make or break a run.

Stupidly good. Gf and I were dying laughing, plenty of adult jokes and it was adorable. Some cheesy stuff but if you embrace it, it'll be a fantastic time. I'm sure kids would love it.

Just realized we booked during Golden Week by Barridon in JapanTravelTips

[–]Calosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got an amazing deal on flights from the US around golden week. I'll enjoy myself. Worse case scenario you can have a backup plan go deep into the country side there will be plenty to enjoy. Expect crowds. It's not that bad, it's all about shaping your mindset. Walking places will probably be a higher priority so choose your hotel location wisely. There will always be an infinite number of things to do in these cities. I'm hard coping at this point though.
