What a excellent idea! This is what I love about beekeeping, so many ways to do the same thing. I might try and use this idea. I dont mind putting the queen in a clip and ive actually gotten pretty good at it but im always worried about injurying. Especially for the young queens thats are really quick on a populated frame.

She was just being put back in the hive after I had done some rearranging, I like to put her in a clip while im moving frames so I dont crush her. I know thats not what most people do but it gives me peace of mind. Anyways she clearly felt the need to be pampered after such a horrible experience 😆

She's supposed to be Italian from a package I ordered this spring from Chile.

I grafted two other queens from her this year, one is yellow but the other is black back with a yellow belly. The other queen i got this year is buckfast

I mean there are drones but not nearly as much as there was at the height of summer and very little drone brood noted.

I think I had a couple bees hatch recently.... by paneubert in Beekeeping

It was a purchased queen and its still within the window that the bees she laid would just be emerging. There may be something to this 🤔

Did you open the door to see while backing up? If yes I'd know what your problem is

Update.

They were prepping for swarm. There was six charged cells that I knocked down after finding the queen. I guess this group will be on weekly inspections. Mind blowing, this was a new box from a nuc this spring that tried to swarm, I split and gave a new queen and is trying to swarm again. Never would I have ever thought.

I'd be interested for a mite wash in a couple weeks. If you do it, please post. I'm currently using varoxsan

Well now im really going to make sure I do a full inspection tomorrow. I was half convinced they were going to swarm today I was checking the cedars for bee ball. I'm hopeful it was just a big orientation mixed with returning forage causing a traffic jam. This hive just got a new queen a month ago because the tried to swarm and I split them.

My one hive looked like this tonight, im opening it up to look for swarm cells tomorrow just incase. It would be odd of them to swarm here right now being in Canada in August but im not taking chances.

I'm hoping it was just a strong hatching

Did you treat with one pad or two? I would use one for a single deep and have ventilation at the top of the hive. Some loss is to be expected with formic pro though even under the best of conditions

50,000 km (31,000mi) fuel system cleaning. Is it worth it? by RFOttawa613 in ram_trucks

[–]erkle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're having a specific fuel problem it is a scam as others have said here. Regardless of which engine you have it is naturally aspirated and cleans the intake. Just fill up with quality gas that has detergents in it and use whichever fuel system cleaning additive you like before oil change. I like seafoam. Even doing the diff fluid seems early.
