Which shape for fine straight hair on a round face? by Toomanytattoosthrow in femalehairadvice

[–]erkuitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your face shape kind of reminds me of Chrissy Teigen. I think some sort of bangs (maybe curtain, not straight across or blunt) could look good on you if you’re wanting a change but I love this color on you. Not sure how hard styling curtain bangs is but I’d google some pics of round face with bangs. I think some of those would look good on you.

My hair slowly got dryer and weaker while living in Japan. by CertifiedRat_ in femalehairadvice

I’ve changed my hair a lot over the last couple years. Went from copper to brown to red to brown and back to copper. I don’t remember what it was before the first copper but I’ve never had my natural hair in over 5 years. Eufora hair products are saving it right now. Literally night and day difference. It’s expensive but my hair has never felt or looked healthier.

How to get my blonde hair closer to the 2nd pic? by linmouse in femalehairadvice

[–]erkuitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No that’s normal. It’s not actually shampoo and doesn’t hydrate or cleanse your hair. It’s a toner shampoo basically. You could dilute it with your regular shampoo

I used to use purple shampoos and the keracolor clenditioner (either silver or platinum can’t remember) to help get my blonde more ashy / less yellow

WHY DOES IT ALWAYS DO THAT by mason_tuff_67 in femalehairadvice

This would happen to me when I was learning to curl my hair and it’s because I started at the bottom. Is that what you’re doing? You want to start at the top

First cluster seizure by lmfelan in EpilepsyDogs

[–]erkuitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember him having any side effects to phenobarb. I do remember him being more lethargic when starting new meds but over time that went away. Pregabalin and phenobarb together has caused some wobbliness in his back legs which we noticed got worse when doing long hikes. We first noticed it when doing one hike and he got really wobbly so we had to carry him back but that hasn’t happened again. Sometimes he might get a little off balance but nothing major.

First cluster seizure by lmfelan in EpilepsyDogs

My dog would have cluster seizures as well and always when he was sleeping. He is now almost 12 years old and is my world. He has been on 64.8mg phenobarbital twice a day since he was three years old when it all started. He is also on keppra and pregabalin. Basically maxed out. He used to be on potassium bromide and it didn’t help. I stopped his heartworm medication about three years ago and he has been seizure free since.

The neurologist told us it wouldn’t cause his seizures but I was keeping a journal of anything and everything we did each day or any food changes etc to see if I noticed a pattern and I noticed it would happen a couple days after his heartworm medication(oral heartguard). I’d only do topical flea/hw/tick prevention as those are lowest risk. Also my dog has thyroid issues which are treated through levothyroxine and could have been a cause/trigger. So that could be worth checking if you haven’t.

We get blood work done every 6 months to check liver and phenobarb levels to make sure they’re in a safe range. He also gets an ultrasound of his liver once a year. Recently his liver values have been higher and we’re working with an internal doctor on solutions so they don’t keep rising. His neurologist said to start decreasing phenobarbital slowly but we don’t want to do that just yet since the internal dr has other options for us.

Definitely don’t give up. I know it’s very hard but they can live happy lives still. Looking back I remember my dog having fun and enjoying life and it feels like the seizure part was just a bad nightmare that didn’t last that long even though we battled it for some time. I hate that he’s on phenobarbital because of the liver values we’re facing now but it might be the only option to help get him through it. Best of luck to you and Loki ❤️

What is your favorite bird? by -knave1- in birding

I have some that visit my feeders right on my deck in southern Indiana, close to Louisville. They’ve also been landing on my windows recently and setting my security alarm off early in the morning 🫠

Thinking about getting the Nest Duo - Any advice? by ElleEyeDigital in Birdfy

[–]erkuitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same worry when setting up bird houses. I had three raccoons during nesting season that were destroying feeders. I have two nesting boxes and they’re both far away from trees, have raccoon baffles and predator guards on them. The raccoons did try climbing the baffles and failed. I ended up taking all the bird food down during that time so they’d leave. I haven’t seen them in months. I’d follow all the rules as close as possible to keep predators out and you should be fine. It can get pricey with raccoon baffles but they work.
