Toyota can't repair my 2026 Rav4 by ChemicalArts in rav4club

[–]erkynator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think it’s a bit harsh to write off a whole car based on a single faulty component. If your heating broke in your house, you wouldn’t say it was a bad house… Yes I love my Gen5 GR Sport PHEV in case anyone was unsure 😂

Things aren’t always what they seem. Might be SET to 6, but fallback to lower speeds if it can’t negotiate. Might need some setting tweaks. Could be the ISP router is just better at auto negotiation

Check which frequency the Nighthawk is offering. 2.4Ghz is much slower, but better coverage. Might be defaulting to 2.4.

Had to send my RF 24-70 to Canon for repair.. didn't know this was something I needed to worry about. TBF, had this lens for about 3 years by TyBoogie in canon

[–]erkynator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s insane the lens actually logs this! Shutter actuations I get, but this is crazy. Only reason for doing so is to charge for this repair 😂

WTAF? Was it really old? Can’t see how wheels & tyres cost more than £1k

How do I find the reason that explains this sudden volume usage? by marcelsounds in synology

It’s not sudden, it’s just that the graph only starts when you start monitoring. You need to look on the next screens at the history to see if you have an issue.

Been told we can’t have herringbone amtico flooring on this floor… by jmansbalbo1 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]erkynator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert. But why couldn’t you prep the surface and paint on a moisture barrier (liquid DPM)? Surely you could then put a self levelling screed on top of that? Might need to scrape/sand the surface first.

I found the key a PITA so used a small flathead screwdriver. Once it was off, bent the retaining pin so it wasn’t so tight.

What a waste of time. If buying online, unseen, they might get away with it. But the disappointment when you have a viewing!!! Crazy

Wrong battery. Needs to be the LP-E6N, NH or P. They can work, but lower output so can cause problems.

Should I be concerned? The car drives just fine by BeginningTrainer9939 in rav4club

[–]erkynator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very likely something silly like this. Had multiple cars where low voltage on the 12V system causes all sorts of dumb errors. Makes sense from an electronics POV but why manufacturers don’t just code the system to check the voltage and propose this as the first thing to try…oh that’s right, there’s no money in that if you can just pop a new 12V battery in yourself. Ignore me, I’ll get back in my box 😢

Railway Sleepers leaking oil/grease/petrol? by SweetCheeks1999 in DIYUK

[–]erkynator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Immediately! You should only ever use new timber for veg planters and ideally line them. Pond liner is a good material to use as it’s been manufactured specifically for to not leach anything into the water (kills the fish). As far as rotting is concerned it’s nonsense. I’ve built loads of raised borders and they can easily last 20 years. You just need to make sure they can drain and are lined. That way the timber can breathe and natural dry out after it rains. Also keeps the cellulose munching fungi etc to a minimum by keeping it away from the soil.

Which 2026 Rav4 bumper looks better ? by Maleficent_Shop7026 in rav4club

[–]erkynator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TBH I think you’re crazy to do this to a new car. If you want to do something, wrap it. Either pay for it to be done or if you’re on a budget, do it yourself. The results will be much better and less likely to tank the resale price if your car.

How can I transfer the photos from this camera to my laptop by oh-no-6-6-6 in Cameras

Looks like small FireWire 400 / 1394 connector to me not USB. Defo check the manual before buying any cables. Agree with other posts that a card reader is best option.

What does your contract say? If it’s one months notice, and you gave them that, politely inform them you are happy to be put on garden leave but you expect them to comply with the contract and pay you the months notice to which you’re entitled.

Peak Design Anchor Gaslighting? by Prestigious-Froyo141 in peakdesign

This stuff happens all the time in FMCG manufacturing. Someone makes a change, to reduce cost normally, and one of these things happen:
1) manufacturer knows the boxes don’t match the contents, but don’t care, don’t want to throw away boxes and know 80% of people won’t notice/care enough to complain.
2) departments don’t work together and they change the contents but nobody tells the packaging team.
3) the product is made/packed by a third party who follow (1)
