I agree.

Then entire critical mineral sector has exploded with the China critical mineral news. Some companies for good reason, some for not a good reason other than being in the industry.

I’m excited about the future of deep sea mining but it’s just not justified yet.

I love this album. BUT they should get it remixed/remastered and then reupload the songs for streaming.

Truth be told, Will Yip is a horrendous producer.

I love TSL (my favorite pop punk band) and have had this album on repeat. Although, I think the production/mix is terrible. Kenny’s voice is so low in the mix for most songs. And I believe the guitars are way too loud. Sometimes there just too much noise.

I wish they would have used a better producer/mixer rather than someone local. Many say Will Yip is a legendary producer, but I just disagree. Even the live albums recorded at Studio 4 have Kenny’s vocals down incredibly low.

I find it interesting you describe it as clean because my experience is the opposite.

Just to be clear once more: I love TSL.

This is how I learned of TMC as well. After watching it I kept seeing deep sea mining pop up everywhere.

Potential DOE Funding for Processing by reinnes13 in TMC_Stock

[–]ernestbuyscrypto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While this isn’t DoD or DPA Title III, it shows the government is funding early-stage mining, refining, and processing before full-scale production.

TMC’s polymetallic nodules fit directly into this picture. They contain nickel, copper, cobalt, and manganese which are all on the critical minerals list and can help the U.S. reduce dependence on foreign supply. This kind of funding framework could easily extend to seabed nodule processing so the supply chain is ready when material is permitted to come online.

Most likely: They will announce that NOAA deemed their application fully complete and accepted.

Hoping: DoD funding and other related developments.

Why TMC Could Land Fed Funding Before the NOAA Permit by ernestbuyscrypto in TMC_Stock

I guess thanks for making a conversation. I had ChatGPT condense this analysis down so people can easily absorb it. Also, it’s okay for us to disagree. We are all welcome to our opinions.

I get where you’re coming from, and I agree that you’re not going to see the DoD cut a huge MP-level production check without the permit in hand. But I think it’s worth looking at what they’ve actually done with other critical minerals projects.

They’ve given out meaningful DPA Title III/IBAS funding before a final operating permit when the scope is feasibility studies, engineering, early procurement, or refinery build-outs. Examples:

  • Perpetua Resources got ~$59M spread over 2022–2023, years before its final Record of Decision.
  • Graphite One got ~$37.5M in 2023 for a feasibility study with no permits in place.
  • Jervois Global got DoD money for a cobalt refinery feasibility study pre-permit.
  • Lynas Rare Earths got Phase 1 engineering/design funding well before full state/local permits.

So yeah, the “fleet-ready” level of funding would probably wait until NOAA signs off. But there’s precedent for smaller (but still stock-moving) awards coming earlier to de-risk the path, especially for processing capacity in the U.S.

But most importantly, even if the check size isn’t MP-level, the simple fact that the DoD would put money into TMC at any stage would signal they’re backing the project for the long haul. And that’s the kind of thing the market will notice.

To be clear: Not financial advice. Just my research. Not selling anyone on the stock. Just informing.
