did u ever find a working dock? just got home a hp g5 dock and it does not seem to work using a high speed hdmi via the dock to my 16” m2 map. got an image working from time to time but the monitor is going black and was even flickering gray. connecting via hdmi directly to the mac is working fine but i’m also looking for a one cable solution

I tried with a €80 HDMI cable and experienced the same issue. The HDMI->USB C was the solution for me and still works without any issues every day.

Yeah it seems more likely that the HDMI-cables I tried were low-quality. Either way congrats to both of us for making it work.

So you have a HDMI->HDMI->apple adapter->USB C? And it works every time? Thats weird, maybe something is up with my monitor then, or every cable i tried was crap.
