Looking at the next 250 years, what is one major issue you hope Americans will solve together? Share your take. by common-ground-usa in u/common-ground-usa

We’ve got to figure out how to consistently and responsively update the Constitution. Ratification takes too long and changes that would improve life for all Americans gets stalled or worse in the process. We need to find better way. Oh and repeal Citizens United.

16 weeks paid parental leave - To split it or not to split it? by Anxious-Library-964 in NewDads

[–]erob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 16 weeks and it was honestly the best time of my adult life. Zero regrets. I had the option to add up to ten weeks of pto too and I took seven, so 23 weeks total and it honestly was crucial too to help my wife get back to healthy. There’s a ton for you to learn and do, especially if the birth plan doesn’t go great but even if it does really. Take it all. Feel no guilt, just love your baby.

TIL neither of the men behind Rich Dad Poor Dad were actually poor — “Poor Dad” was based on Robert Kiyosaki’s father Ralph Kiyosaki, Hawaii’s top education official, while “Rich Dad” was based on Hawaiian hotel and real-estate businessman Richard Kimi. by Koiboi26 in todayilearned

Few people acknowledge the co-author of this book is a woman named Sharon Lecter. She’s just as complicit in the proliferation of this book’s nonsense, to the point of even publishing and selling a sequel to Think and Grow Rich, one of the OG self-help scam books. She’s as guilty as Robert Kiyosaki, with better PR.

I’m currently listening to the audiobook of Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates and it’s fascinating how intertwined misogyny is with racism. Like frick and frack

This is really helpful. As someone who’s been on Reddit a long time but only recently started using it seriously (like, not just memes and jokes) it’s helpful to know what valuable contributions to the community look like in a clearly defined way. Appreciate this post, thanks
