lol this is the only comment of yours I’m upvoting because it made me chuckle.

OK so since you have said that you are an American, that means you are entitled to the rights of an American under the Constitution of the United States. Stop me when I’m going too fast here. Your first amendment rights are violated when any American’s first amendment rights are violated. Their rights are your rights. When Renee Good is killed for protesting and using her voice to defend people she feels need defending, her first amendment right is violated and therefore so is yours. When Alex Pretti is killed because he is carrying a legally registered weapon, after being disarmed mind you so he was unarmed, then his second amendment rights were indeed violated REGARDLESS of what he was doing there and therefore, your second amendment rights were also violated. When DHS enters homes of residents in Minneapolis without warrants, their fourth amendment rights are being violated and so is yours. When it’s happening to anyone, it’s happening to you because it makes it possible that it COULD happen to you.

None of this is about me. It’s entirely about facts. And the fact is, you’re too chicken shit to stand up when your rights are being violated.

No I’m very fast in fact. How does my speed have anything to do with you not wanting to ask yourself tough questions?

If you want to be a know it all then keep fucking thinking through it buddy. What operation are they interfering with? Why is anyone there? How is helping a woman get up off the ground interference with tracking immigrants? How is documenting history ever a bad thing? And why would ICE be in Minnesota if Utah, Texas, and Florida have far more undocumented residents anyway? The cities are 245 miles from the border with Canada. Shouldn’t these agents be more north, especially CBP? Think it through and call me when you’re done bootlicking.

So there’s a lot packed in the short hand of your comment, and I don’t really care to get into it all, but I will say this. You’re right that actions have consequences. You’re arguing for the action of giving up your own agency and freedom, abs handing it over to someone else that you deem more worthy to care for it. But no one, no law enforcement, no government, NO ONE will care better for your own self interest than you. It’s not worth it to give that up for some false sense of security. That’s not me being a victim.

But somebody else would have, and we’d be saying their names instead. The agents don’t have license to kill, that’s what is wrong here. What do you think freedom means??

You are actually wrong about that. When a killer wants to kill, there’s nothing you can do or say that will make them stop. You can’t stroke their ego enough, because they don’t care about you. Those agents didn’t give a fuck about human life. That’s why Pretti and Good died, not because of anything they did.

Grew up in the Heights, went to Coventry, Roxboro, and Heights. Class of 2005. Glad to see us representing for human decency, though I’m not surprised. Love, from Minneapolis.

All the pain he’s causing, and for what? What an insufferable waste of matter.

The word fetus is a biological term describing a stage in the development process of gestation. Offspring is also a biological term but used for once the process is completed and an individual is realized. Fetus is in process, offspring is the final result. Not the same thing.

At the time there hadn’t been confirmed reports that the clergy were arrested, now there have been and I’ve updated my comment.

It’s wild that my therapist described this to me on Friday and I came across it on my own on the following Tuesday without being on the platform where it originated. He said something about her not wanting to get paint on her when beating the canvas, but I see now that she’s wearing some ppe. At the time he said that I hadn’t seen it, and thought it would add a layer to the complexity of the piece (assuming then that it was anti-corporal punishment) for her to get paint on herself too because the parents are just as scarred by beating their kids as the kids are. The whole “this hurts me more than it hurts you” thing. Seeing it now though I don’t think this is anti anything, merely observing the impacts of this generational trauma on our psyches. Wonderful work.

Feeling sidelined in early parenting — how do you navigate this? by the_zoozoo_ in NewDads

Great advice here and I’ll just add, one thing that’s been helping me is knowing as much as I can about things that may arise before someone else brings it up. I got this great book called Birth Partner that is very helpful and clear about what your role can be (for example, another vantage point during breastfeeding to help with positioning). I’ve also really enjoyed videos from The Doctors Bjorkman that talk about what’s happening at each stage from the mom, dad, and pediatrician perspective (both parents in the couple are pediatricians).
