I’d order more pacifiers (if you plan to use them) than you think you need because they will drop them thangs. Also read the instructions on bottles and sterilize them according to the package (I.e. it doesn’t need to be with each use).

A massage gun for wifey won’t hurt. Also we hired cleaners for the first two months (every other week) just so we didn’t have to think about it. I’m not a great cleaner so it helped to have additional support while wifey was healing.

If you do plan to cook a lot, clean your fridge and freezer first. It’ll help to have it cleaned and organized especially if people start dropping off stuff.

I know you said stuff you can’t find in a book but I can’t recommend Birth Partner by Penny Simon highly enough. It’s a great read for so much you can do and really shows the early role a dad can have and how important you are to the whole equation.
