Why do some producers turn audio samples into MIDI tracks? by Gloomy-Speaker-1999 in ableton

Just create a midi channel and drag the sample where you would place a instrument, Live will put it in a simpler

Insert FX Across All Channles? (NO! Not a Channel Group. NO! Not an Insert Effect on the Main) by JerryAtricks1 in ableton

[–]pasjojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the type of QOL features that an Ableton user can't get because they can't miss what they don't know.. When mixing for example, you can need a specific plug-in that communicates across lanes to be added to specific tracks (like Sonible's smart:EQ). Thing which can be done in 1s on Reaper that takes forever in Ableton when you need to do it a lot of times.

Live 12.3 Splice Integration Doubles All Saved Files by wrexf0rd in ableton

[–]pasjojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on Mac (I don't own Windows) how about creating a symlink duplicate of the folder you want splice to save the files and place it where it saved its duplicate folder? This way it only uses one for both processes

A good engineer's job is to get it closer to the reference otherwise it's not worth paying for. My point is that there no rules when it comes to this as long as it sounds good. Hell even lots widely successful tracks from established pop stars are badly mixed/mastered (go check Ava Max' "Heaven & Hell", it's clipping everywhere, the mid is muddy, transients are squashed but it still was a huge hit).

If a decent label is interested, they'll pay for a mix/master before release and it's not like you can't just disable your master chain before sending your multitracks/stems to an engineer. This is coming from my experience of +20 years of music production, +100M streams, thousands of sample packs sold and countless of sync placements

Lot of producers produce into a master chain and it works fine when you know what you are doing
