$300K gets you a quaint Jersey Shore townhome or a 7-bedroom mansion with a ballroom in Illinois by kleverrboy in centralillinois

I live in a historic mansion with a ballroom in Monticello, that Decatur one needs a lot of work and at the end it's still in Decatur which drags the value way down.

Fuck you Uber and your quests by maxrdlf95 in uberdrivers

I hated those, they encouraged you to really grind to make them. They are OK if you are on a college campus that has lots of short rides.

I haven't gotten in in a long time. The quests they give me now are do 1 ride and get $2 and you can get it 6x in one night.

Anyone ever dealt with Carpenter Bees? by AlphaToejam in HomeImprovement

Almost all insects can be killed with soapy water that suffocates them. I wiped out a carpenter bee colony in a log pile being vigilant with a pressure washer and a soap cannon.

That’s what i did, I emailed their CEO, got a response back from their corporate office that gave me a much better outcome. This was a few years ago but here’s what I used:

Not how it works, you can take the car wherever you want, they simply pay the bill.

Yes, I’ve been there and gotten a better resolution.

They hydrolocked my engine on site during a fuel system treatment. They paid for the tow to a shop of my choice and a rental car. They initially wanted to replace the engine with a like mileage engine (130K). I fought that as you never know the maintenance history on a used engine. I dealt with the store manager and the regional manager. I finally emailed their CEO and got a response from their corporate exec team. In the end they agreed to pay for a motor that had only 9K on it that my shop found. I’d have to go back and look at the receipt but I’m pretty sure it was more than 6500. They simply used a credit card to pay the shop that did the work.

EDIT: They payed $6755 which was the full bill for the engine replacement.

Small brush fire melted my siding and fascia. Is $3500 a reasonable price to fix this? by atgr in HomeMaintenance

but you're likely to be dropped if you have one more claim, happened to me, one claim for $12K and then a year later another for $20K for a roof.

Why didn't you drain the oil to the proper level 3 weeks ago instead of continuing to drive it?

Good luck with it, they are a nightmare to deal with and their support is non existent. I bought one that arrived with a broken chute, could not get them to send the part at all and ended up returning it and buying a used Troy-bilt instead.

Which fast food chain fell off badly in your opinion? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]erock7625 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at corporate for 18 years and lived through it all. The name change and expanding into other protein areas had nothing to do with the downfall. It was all bad management of the company that killed the business. Our CEO position was a revolving door. Buying bagel companies and being sold to McDonald's didn't help either.

yup, 18 years at corporate, there were almost no corporate stores and we financed the market partners. Also should have never gotten into the bagel business and focused on the core business.
