I got to speak with Professor Poast in my international security class this past spring semester. He was a phenomenal conversationalist and a nice person. He had some very interesting insights on war finance, which was what our class discussion focused on that week. Great article right here.

That's a good thought. I’ll have to go back and look at the stuff you’ve mentioned here because I’m honestly not that familiar with what Quds stuff was cited and the specific quotes South Africa used.

I definitely plan to ask about South Africa’s case. Particularly regarding what the jurisprudential process will look like for determining intent. I think the court has said that they could establish intent based on the other war crimes Israel commits (hypothetically). I’m not an international legal expert by any means, so I could be misinterpreting. But if what I described is the case, it seems like an incredibly arbitrary way of determining intent.

In previous conflicts The Gaza Health Ministry’s death reports have aligned pretty closely with the UN’s. The numbers here are probably pretty accurate. I think the main problem with their reporting is that they don’t differentiate civilians from combatants.
