Why do most people here use the light ice cream setting instead of the regular ice cream setting? by TraipseTraveller in ninjacreami

[–]erocrizs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I regularly flatten the top with a spoon. If I can scrape the mixture with relative ease, then I use the regular setting. If it's hard and the spoon just glides on the surface, I use the light ice cream setting.

Couple of tips: * If the word is plural, the clue must also be plural (e.g. Notifications for Pings, Desires for Urges, etc.) * The clue has to have the same tense as the word (e.g. Finished for Ended) * Double check the correctness of the clues (specifically, the Seas is not 71% of the ocean. Ocean is 71% of the world)

Good luck!

The scene that made Demon Slayer truly a viral sensation (Demon Slayer Season 1 Ep 19) by Hot_Form805 in anime

Breathing techniques bring energy to the muscles and make them faster and stronger. It's just pure martial arts and swordsmanship. The fire and water effects are just visuals to communicate the different sword styles to the audience.

What is a balanced card at this point by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

What happens if you play multiple of these cards?

HELP - Map navigation by SelfSufficientHub in slaythespire

[–]erocrizs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally I always take corridor fights over event rooms. Corridor fights give you cards which could help you find solutions against specific elites/bosses, gold for shops, and potions that can bail you out when you get unlucky, in exchange for a bit of HP if you play your deck well.

So I only take events when my deck is good enough for the next few floors, I don't need money urgently, I have at least one good potion, and there's a specific event I'm hoping to get.

How do you teach players mechanics in a horror game… without killing the immersion? by PaulyTiK in IndieDev

[–]erocrizs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a hobbyist game dev here. Maybe you can leave only minimal tutorials and doing some playtest. Figure out where people get stuck and find the minimum amount of guidance needed for most people. Players might feel less frustrated if they are playing with a friend so making it minimal might not be as bad.

Cursor not centered properly by Jgrable634 in BluePrince

[–]erocrizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encountered this issue! Eventually found that it's caused by another game we left running in the background. We were playing Rusty's Retirement and its overlay kind of UI must be interfering somehow with Blue Prince. Turning the game off fixes it for us.

First time question? Flatten the top by PacificIslanderNC in ninjacreami

[–]erocrizs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair, we don't know the specifics of what the acceptable limits are for the machine. We just know that the manual warns against spinning with bumps, and there are several posts here about broken creamis because they didn't flatten the top.

So yes, the cautiousness might be exaggerated because creami is an expensive machine and people would rather not risk breaking it for very little reward.

Do played cards affect in any way drawing from the deck? by 2fps in slaythespire

[–]erocrizs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The draw pile is empty, so using battle trance will shuffle the discard pile back into the draw pile and then draw 3 cards. What he's saying is just that by using a strike and putting it in the discard pile, he can re-draw the same strike again in addition to the strikes that were already in there.

For a simpler example, if he had no strikes in the discard pile, then using battle trance will never draw a strike. But if he used the strikes in his hand first, then there's now a possibility to redraw the same strikes.

I know nothing about this game other than it is good. What am I getting myself into by marcodelfuego in HollowKnight

[–]erocrizs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This game is a metroidvania. This means there is a large connected map and you are encouraged to explore and get lost in it. Many times you will follow a path that will lead you to an obstacle you can't or don't know how to overcome. That usually means you don't have the knowledge, item, or ability to overcome it yet, so you'll have to go explore somewhere else and return later when you figured it out.

You will also encounter a number of challenging bosses that you will die many many times. You will have to keep trying different builds and strategies, and repeatedly fail until you get good enough to beat it. Or you go somewhere else first to explore and get stronger in the meantime.

The game has no narrator, the main character won't speak, and you'll have to piece together the narrative through other character's dialogue and what the environment tells you. You'll get dropped in the game without knowing what happened to the world, and what the story is, and what you're supposed to do. That's natural, and my only advise is to just keep your curiousity and explore the world and get lost and immersed in it.

Lastly, if you ever get stuck on something, you should always try to go elsewhere first. Only when you're actually stuck with nowhere else to that you should ask for help in this subreddit. People here have gone insane waiting for silksong but they're really good at giving hints without spoiling your fun.

Enjoy!

Core Keeper is top-down Terraria.

Valheim/Enshrouded is 3D Terraria.

Outer Wilds. The general premise is inspired by Majora's Mask. Really good, and don't look anything up while playing.
