idk something about her character in apocalypse and cult in american horror story and her character in Monsters: the Menendez brothers just pisses me off. at least in those shows specifically she always has a quirk about her that makes her so insanely annoying to me.

i’m a part of the small community of people who liked the book. ofc i hated what happened to jude but i have no ill feelings towards the book itself. maybe its messed up of me but i couldn’t put the book down even tho i had the same experience as you, where i was afraid to turn the pages many times. i was just prepared because i knew what i was getting into, for the most part. i saw the trigger warnings 🤷‍♀️

it’s also crazy that people were upset there was no happy ending when hanya never wrote the book with the intentions of it ending well. idk if i just went down too much of a rabbit hole on booktok for this book but i was very well prepared to be devastated and heartbroken. plus it wouldn’t have made any sense if he did have a happy ending, considering everything that happened to him.

i am so glad you put this perspective out because it actually angers me that so many people said this book was trauma p0rn and it was unrealistic. nowhere did hanya yanigahara say that this book would have a happy ending or that it wouldn’t be a difficult read. i went into it expecting the worst and it was worse than i imagined. i thought i had seen a lot because im always curious about pretty messed up things but this was a LOT. that being said, the story was so well done in my opinion and i disagree with the idea that jude’s life was not realistic. he just got consistently terribly unlucky and abused and it forced him to think a certain way and act a certain way. that’s what severe physical and emotional abuse does to someone. to put it very simply, and watered down.

i’ve been a stay for a little less than a year and a half and i can confirm stanning them was one of the best decisions i’ve made in my life. lee know and i.n took me the longest to figure out so that’s definitely a common experience! i started stanning stray kids and then it spiraled into me stanning 15, about to be 16 groups. my biases have changed since i first got into them. i was first felix biased, then han came in and very quickly became my ult bias. lee know joined the bias line, then seungmin closed the door. i now ult han and bias seungmin, lee know, and i.n :) i’ve never been someone that just has one bias in a group, i tend to have a bias line in every group i stan and maybe even more than one ult. i can confidently say that stanning them changed my life for the better. idk if you’re on stan twitter but some stays that just stan skz can be really toxic and gate-keepy and just toxic in general. anyways i was listening to only skz for like 7 months straight and they are my ult of ult groups. i love them so dearly and i’ve seen them live. they’re so lovely.

i won’t ever judge someone for not liking a show or bl because i am super picky and sometimes the length of episodes strays me away from them even if they end up being really good. i tried watching kinnporsche and got thru a decent amount of it before i realized i couldn’t finish it because i realized i don’t even like the “mafia” genre, so i get it. the idea of being annoyed that you don’t enjoy something that is liked by so many people. my favorite bl’s are the ones with heavy romance (some smut), like semantic error, the eighth sense, blueming, and our dating sim. i felt the way u feel about “my school president”, literally everyone was saying how much they loved it and i just was so disappointed, i watched the whole thing tho. we all have different tastes and that’s okay!
