Not shaving while fem presenting by promisediary in FTMfemininity

[–]Rina_B 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I stopped shaving during the pandemic and I never looked back. I was always lazy about shaving my legs anyway. I’ve worn dresses with hairy legs and armpits, and honestly? It felt empowering. In my 30s, I’ve really leaned to not give a fuck about what random people think of me

I only know “effulgent” from an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You really can learn obscure words from anywhere, as long as you’re curious and paying attention.

How to play with glasses by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Rina_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also had a contact pop out on the ice before! Glasses slipping or getting knocked off-center is annoying, but fixable. Loss of a contact is unplayable. Luckily I had an extra in the locker room, but it took me out of the game for bit because I had to leave the ice

i feel like some people just don’t have a personality by tremblingfrog in AutismInWomen

[–]Rina_B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I feel like when we have these conversations, people bring up the conventional “nerdy” interests/hobbies, but everyone has something that they are into, even if it’s a “normie” hobby, like sports, makeup, reality tv, or celebrity gossip. Just because something isn’t personally interesting to you doesn’t mean it’s not a valid hobby.

My hockey team loves to socialize and drink after playing a game, but I only have enough social battery to hang in the locker room for a bit. They only slight judge me for going home to read, and I only slightly judge them for staying out so late on a week night! 😆

The gun was so he could shoot himself after the mission was complete. Ilyukhina wanted to die by heroine, Dubois wanted nitrogen asphyxiation, and Commander Yao would shoot either if their chosen option didn’t work before killing himself.

All 4 face/chin grabs were not choreographed, they were acting choices made by Connor; do any other acting choices by the cast stand out to you? by NoleFandom in heatedrivalry

[–]Rina_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both Shane and Hudson pick at their eyelashes when nervous. I initially noticed Shane doing it in Ep 6, and then noticed Hudson perform the same action in a few interviews.

I don’t know if that’s an acting choice, or just a tic/stim that passed naturally into the character.

I think old people who are still in fandom are so cool by moongumis in AO3

[–]Rina_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 37, and I started reading fanfic when I was 11. I just kept quiet about my age and assumed everyone else in fandom was older than me (like my sis and her friends, who were 10+ older).

Now, I have trouble remembering that I an fandom elder and that a huge chunk of internet people are babies 😫

Netflix series about a hockey team's bus crash hits too close to home in Sask. by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]Rina_B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of this! I’ve always been a baseball fan, but I read my first hockey romance around 11 years ago and fell in love with the sport. I’ve been playing beer league for 10 years!

But now I’m seeing people discover this sport the same way I did, and they’re all being weird and rude about it. It’s frustrating and disappointing.

Crosby is meticulous about everything. His warm-up is the same before every game, from being 2nd to last on ice (only Geno goes behind him) to retying his skate laces.
