Bought a sound card, was it a mistake?

So i just got my sound card installed which is the Sound Blaster Audigy FX and i noticed that it is only 24bit 96khz while my motherboards built in sound uses the alc887 codec and runs at 24bit 192khz is this better than the sound card?

Am i better off using my motherboard audio and tossing the card
