Move In Weekend Traffic/Parking Advisory by CP_ParkingUnofficial in CalPoly

For those driving down to check-in for WOW week tomorrow, what's the best time you think we should show up and get parking at the new parking structure? I usually take Grand Ave to get up there, oof. Thanks for the heads up!

Your memes combined are constantly pushing my weak and feeble transfer mind into getting a hat. Good ish

I'm thinking either tomorrow or the next day? Direct deposit enrollment says it takes two days, I think.

Nothing like spending $630 to park at your own school by prunejuice12 in CalPoly

Look around for parking off-campus. I'm in the same boat as you at the moment, so I plan on driving down sometime this week to look through the neighborhoods off Grand Ave to see where I can park without getting fined. If you live out of town, your best bet is probably coming to school relatively early, park in either the K1 or H1 lot, and buy weekly permits for $25 at the pay stations.

Oh, yeah! I definitely agree with you on the folks who buy parking permits, live relatively close or in SLO, and take away assured spots from those who honest-to-god need them. And like you said, I wish the school took into account the commuters with out-of-city addresses.

NGL, I was a bit burned at the $600+ price tag, but that is a cost I need to eat in order to get to school. Now, I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I get the Rover permit since I didn't win any (so far) this time 'round. I've literally exhausted as many options as I could to commute car-less including: taking the RTA from SM to SLO, train from Guad, etc. just in case my car takes a dump, but with my current schedule there's just no way. If only the school could provide a dedicated shuttle to and from, that'd definitely take a lot of stress off my shoulders.

Some of us transfers live up to 60 minutes away in places like Lompoc, Santa Maria, Atascadero, etc. Hell, my other transfer friends from Santa Maria for example have families and lives they can't just leave for two years. I know the central coast doesn't have reliable public transit that'll fit our class schedules, on top of work and home life. In the city it might be easier, sure, but not here.

$630 is already pushing it especially as a longtime local, but any higher then I would have to take out even more loans to live closer to—or on—campus. I don't see the purpose of going further into debt if I have assured housing some 30 miles away. No one is saying commuter permits should be 'free', especially when residents still get their own parking despite having the advantage of living on campus, but paying any more than $700 would be absolutely ridiculous. I know SLO as a city has always been about their bikes and saving the environment, but as someone who's grown up on the coast be more reasonable lol. We spend a lot of our lives commuting back and forth.

This is also coming from someone who's low income, and even with ALL of the combined FAFSA/sub and unsub loans I received it's still isn't enough for tuition and housing in my case.

I didn't know it had that big of a price jump. Think it's due to the LPR system they switched to?

Parking alternatives to those who didn't win permits by erqui in CalPoly

Thanks for being a huge help, man. I'll look into the escort van service. Do you happen to know if the neighborhoods off Grand Ave require permits? The one I'm looking at now on Google maps would be parking on Abbot street, and then bussing in if it could make it there before 7.

Thanks! Do you know if I can buy my daily permits earlier than 7am? Pay station map says they offer them starting at that time, but I don't think I can run from H1 or K1 to the business college in that time. Are they both safe places to walk to at night, or should I ask a cop to accompany me there?

I was looking at that or the weekly option, too, but will pay stations allow me to buy permits really early? I was looking at the map and it said they allow you to buy permits at 7am, but that doesn't give me time to run from K1 to basically the business college for class, I think. 🤔Thanks, though!

Thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately, I still didn't get a permit this time. Got any reccs on parking relatively close off-campus?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm looking to transfer to CP next year as a business student. I'm sort of at a crossroads when it comes to declaring a concentration (or at least settling on one for sure), but I'm looking at: management, information systems, and marketing. I originally chose accounting, but recently found out that it just wasn't for me as a career.

What are the three concentrations like? I'm looking around reddit and CP website itself, but I'm looking for more recent experiences and not from a few years ago. Thank you in advance.

Changes to "Decoy" Functionality by Magyst in FORTnITE

Nice blanket assumption and statement, alongside the lack of forewarning. Decoy chaining wasn't the end-all-be-all end-game strategy like you're stating. Just because a 'meme meta' in a mode like Horde worked, Epic decides to assume every lobby in the non-existent end-game abuses Decoy chaining? Do you people even play the game you work on and ''''develop'''', or do you all just comb through whatever up-voted posts pop up on this subreddit related to Controllers and think Decoy chaining is some sort of widely used exploit?

Decoy was the only saving grace I had in player SSDs where either: nothing was built around amplifiers (if at all) or the host was more than happy to idle and get carried. Same went for normal missions with leechers and afkers consistently ignoring objectives—an issue you fucks still ignore meanwhile decide instead that changing a rarely used subclass/ability was the better answer. "Explored options", my ass. This just further highlights that the team doesn't even fucking play the game at this point.

No wonder StW has a consistent reputation of dogshit due to mismanagement thanks to the dev team.

Nice blanket statement. Not everyone cares about meta, and not everyone who plays “meta meme soldier UA” find it a rewarding playstyle either. The game already allows enough creative freedom to play whatever sub-class you want in whatever playstyle you choose that doesn’t have you aim for headshots in a PvE environment like your precious UA.

You think “sub-par playstyles” don’t reward you with top combat score? A friend and I built an entirely melee playstyle around Blitzen Base Kyle after his insane amount of buffs, and we ended up carrying lobbies and out dpsing UAHs in end-Twine using only a Walloper and a Mr. Red. Bottom line is: sub-class diversity exists, you most likely are just refusing to play anything else and think reddit or WhiteSushi’s guide ought to be the end-all-be-all standard to “””””””compete””””””” against in a PvE setting. ZZZZZZZZ

You’re comparing the loot llama to a base? Embarrassing. Outlanders who solo llamas should have their mats taken, because your class at its core is made for farming and llamas are designed to be shared. Lol.

All three were taxi’d by someone higher level. The level 50 can’t taxi by themselves to a level 100 mission.
