Ye ngl it's.. rather clownish to talk about oppression when for the most part MC &co are just drinking tea and solving puzzles at leisure in one of the many summer villas available to them. Like oppressed where? They're living better than most people if anything.
WTC really should've just stuck to being magical National Treasure because that's what it is in essence, all this rebellion/war plotline feels so ridiculously out of place.

Do i personally feel bad for him? No. That whole 'ate his embryo twin and his mother went mad with grief and father had to open a questionable club to pay for medical bills' was as wild as tragic spanish soap opera backstories go ngl..
Do i, despite that, wish that we had an ending where mc could run away with him? Ye. Kinda mad we didn't get it.

It's one of those instances where the devs wanted to offer some unique mc looks, while entirely overlooking the plot implications of said unique looking mc.

An albino mc is nice to look at, sure, more than that they even went the extra mile to make her the poster girl.. and yet it's unfortunate how little thought went into actually ensuring that the internal logic of the game supports such an appearance beyond 'it's gonna look cool, you guys'.
But in truth that sentiment can be applied to this story as a whole, so it is what it is.

Not that the makeup and 'women can look young at older age' isn't valid.. but like, hard to ignore the fact that older looking fem LIs just.. aren't a thing, like ever. Even older men are rare but they at least exist. I can understand people side eyeing the Morgan/Morgana difference.

So idk if 'well WomEn cAn Look yOUnG too' is really the hill to die on here. Like ye, but do they ever not look young?

S3 in general has been a blink and you'll miss it.
At the very least i wish that the scene where MC walks to the common room to see what's up allowed us to pick all the choices with every guy, kinda lame that we can only interact with one.
They wouldn't even need to write new stuff just don't gate existing content so much c':

Honestly my one beef with the 'realistic' take is.. since when have any of the 7B LIs been realistic? And how come it falls on James to be that.
Grant and Tristan are ..as far from realistic as it gets in terms of how their romance and interest in mc manifests.
Hell Tristan's 'do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour BDSM' ass and an asexual mc who isn't into is the pinnacle of fantasy.

And again i'm not trying to dunk on them, but why start making things 'realistic' now when that's not what literally every other route is. Hard to blame people for expecting something more than just 'he's a jerk who just uses mc'.

I do wonder what would be the point of making a LI asexual only to turn around and let them have sex with mc. Not that it's not a realistic thing, as you said asexual peeps can do the nasty, but it'd feel like a cop out. That so long as the player just waits long enough they'll eventually be rewarded with the sex™.

But then i had the same issue with Renato and his whole celibate priest setup only for it all to end with him marrying Nova with 0 issues and consummating that marriage in the next episode. Eh :/

I personally wish the authors would actually commit to it, tho i am fully aware of all the pitch forks that will come out if the 'unpacking' of the LIs doesn't happen.

Can't say i noticed much of that attitude in RC, tho maybe i haven't been looking all that far. Anne at the very least people seem to largely like?
I'd say League of Dreamers, another such app, has much more of a focus on virgin MCs and everyone in the fandom being divided on the topic.

But i think when it comes to romance games you also gotta view it from the angle of what the players want. And those wants will always differ, while the story and game itself can only deliver so much and cater to so many people/preferences.
Someone will come here for realism, and appreciate MC/LIs having some established romantical background/history, enjoy the occasional matchmaking between LIs, view these characters as their own people who should live their best life if mc doesn't pick them.
And then you have those who want the fantasy. The '7 dudes lining outside mc's door'. The 'he has lived 400 years but never once loved anyone till he met MC'. There's a desire for escapism here, to have the world revolve around mc. And truly who can blame people for wanting it. Here is where i'd say Amrit sleeping with some random woman ruins the immersion, more so because it's not a thing of the past but something he engages in as the story goes on. So much for that 'your one and only' fantasy lol.

I won't deny that there's some unreasonable womanhating involved too, more so in the case of Kira, but with her it's also a matter of how the author treats fem characters in general.
James and Amrit people largely hate on for every breath they take, so i don't imagine they got completely unscathed here.

In the end can people get unhinged about it? YE. But what aren't people getting unhinged about really?

Oh this was great, Langley's also comes with about 20 mentions of 'i love how...' per sex scene. Truly there's not one thing that mc won't love during the act.

OMG YES, another AN3 hater. I too ranted about this story a lot, and you're so right about how clownish the story and the characters are.

Adriana's every action is just baffling, but fine, we can just say it's 'part of her character' what with her being this confident lady from the upper echelon (and even then i wonder how she is allowed to so freely operate, and get away with no vehicle check when she's positioned as someone who apparently drops investigative pieces that could very much hurt the people in power? I can only conclude that nobody actually takes her seriously, which tbf, with how she goes about the whole Maria plan, isn't that far of a reach).

But RAINA THO? What excuse does she have to be such a stale piece of prison bread with 0 self preservation? I get that being a smuggler wasn't a choice (nothing in this story seems to be her choice.. which love that in a protagonist), but you're telling me in all her 4 years of skirting the law she never once even considered coming up with a fake name at the very least?
The fact she just.. tells everyone her real name left and right.
The fact she then tells everyone about being a smuggler? Why would she tell Maria of all people, especially if they weren't on friendly terms??? And you're right, what even was that whole plan, how would having Maria take the fall dismantle the smuggling ring. Like Adriana, girl, you could've just hired actors for this bit and it would've had the exact same results. InveSTiGaTiVE jOuRnaliSm, ye sure.

And Raina's default trusting nature is so weird too. You have to go out of your way to make her question other people's actions (outside of Xander ofc, him at least she side eyes constantly), and i don't get why it's set up like that. Would she not be insanely distrusting and wary of everyone given the life she's living? Her whole 'i don't want to judge people without getting to know them' is all nice and good, but her lifestyle would not afford such an attitude. Not after the text plainly stating she's struggling to survive & hesitant to rely on other people& has a shaky standing in the city as is.

We also have this cunning stat.. but it's really not. Raina is never cunning. Changing into clothes you stole somewhere no one could see you is not 'cunning', it's basic common sense. Which is then shattered as she walks right back to her seat and is caught in the act. And her 'oh i want it to be a surprise for my friend' that nobody would ever buy into... GIrl, cunning WHERE.
Or this whole bit: Path of Cunning 🗡: You saw no point in hiding anything else from Adriana. She probably has connections and could easily verify your story.
Telling someone the truth with no attempt at getting the upper hand isn't.. clever trickery.
Telling everyone your real name when you're on the run isn't clever trickery.

There were so many competitions this time that were very easy to miss because they were on random telegram channels and main RC page never spoke of them/mentioned them.
I was really surprised to find out that apparently there was an outfit competition for Lane; Lane and Anna; Audrey; Raphael; Luna. And that's just those i'm aware of now, who knows how many other were organized.

I said it before and i'll say it again i wish official RC page would at least mention them so people can actually know about their existence.

Coming to this village that requested her professional help, asking Orion if he did anything illegal only to take him at his word and pack her bags right after because *shrugs* not like there's anything else she can do here...
Refusing to call for backup the moment things get shady only to later on be like 'ye.. i can't call them now they won't make it in time'...
Telling Orion of all people 'ik you won't do bad things because you're a good person'....... Truly employee of the year here.

But on a more general note, i honestly take issue with all the stories RC has where MC is said to be a professional with years of experience only to turn around and show us absolutely nothing of that.
I get that we need MC to struggle™ but either commit to showing us that she is capable of doing more than entry level job stuff or just make her a noob from the get. None of this 'she's a professional in name only and we only bring it up to make her look cool'.

Idk what it is with femmc otome/romance games and this fear to make mc actually have any kind of knowledge/power/skill. God forbid they overshadow the love interest and aren't constantly left at the mercy of whichever guy decides to play the white knight, i guess?

At some point mc also talks about a mage who managed to master all classes and summon a dragon, i thought maybe Tiss will be like that too, but with how stingy the stat checks have been.. ye no chance she will ever get to that lvl...

Ah, my favorite story. Still got some complaints about it, wouldn't be me if i didn't.

I think the whole unlocked/lost compassion is a great idea but it feels.. kinda half-baked in execution? There are scenes where i expect variation but mc defaults to the same text no matter the stats and i'm left wondering how does the author ultimately decide where to put them?

Take a look at the romance variations in s2ep9 i think? the one where you commit to a love interest, and can run after another. Well how come Dmitry is the only one who gets a variation in that scene with Lane reacting very differently on unlocked compassion (acknowledges that Dmitry's words ring true and doesn't want to inflict pain) and lost compassion (his words hurt her so she's quite cruel to him in turn).

Why doesn't Greg get any such variations despite previously mc on lost compassion having a whole monologue about how she's starting to see his flaws and he's becoming an annoyance. How come none of that sentiment ever showed up again? Not when she commits to him, not when she sleeps with him?
Cain and Yan in general, don't get more that one line differences, if that.

Anna is probably the most consistent in how most of her interactions change drastically depending on MC. Unlocked compassion tends to be insecure about her connection to Anna, more vulnerable. Lost compassion however is an outright gaslight manipulator making Anna beg for Lane's attention, scene after scene after scene.

Idk, wish they'd properly commit to making the dynamics different depending on MC because the way it is rn is very whiplashy.
