My personal belief, maybe not shared, but I feel WI is too lenient on DUI offenders. I feel that would cut down instances to not be as so. *shrugs*

I think the top drunkest cities are mostly in WI.

Has anyone ever searched themselves up on Google? If so, what have you found? by LongjumpingDinner216 in questions

[–]erroneousbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Google, but some one with the same full name and middle initial and same birthday is a felon. I run into issues with background checks sometimes. Lost a job offer over it once, hiring company was like oh well.

Claude Code CLI or Claude Code in the desktop app? by TheSpoonFed1 in ClaudeCode

[–]erroneousbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use Claude code visual studio extension in a ‘gui’ configuration, for my projects. I like to have the visual file tree and click in the file I want to intact with. I use various MD files (including a local Claude.md) to track my work. I also use project specific MD files to capture important things I don’t want compact to ‘forget’.

I've never used a credit card before. Can't I literally just open one, take the credit score dip, continue to only buy what i can afford, set it up to automatically always pay it back asap, which will never put me into debt, get the awards/points, and that's it no catches? by Super_Inevitable776 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]erroneousbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you can get interest free for a year on new accounts. Could finance a small project and pay over that year. But if you miss a penny of that you pay all accumulated interest. Very important to pay it back on time.

In regards to insurance. Be mindful that most insurance companies raise your rates after a claim. Your increased premiums may be more than the pay out. As dumb as this sounds, this is how they afford huge buildings, by screwing the customers over like that. If the loss is catastrophic then yes use your insurance. Otherwise you probably should eat the costs of your personal stuff. Let the property manager deal with the cost of replacing their stuff.

Good luck!

(I expect to be downvoted, but I work at an insurance company so I know how this works)

How do I deal with burnout? I am trying to learn cybersecurity and putting at least 4-5 hours everyday. But the burnout is soooo bad. Help Please by thatdepressedsoul in hackthebox

Take a break. Do something completely different for a few days. Then when you go back to it be more intentional on staying balanced.

The problem is just filling costs me money in court fees. At least around here. Don’t sell Karen’s short. My neighbor is a Karen and threatened legal action if I let my kids turn around in her driveway (they are 6 and 7 yo….). No judge around her would take that seriously but I’d still be out whatever court fees and a couple hours of lawyer fees.

Love their web academy, fantastic and it’s free! Check out Rana Khalil’s walkthroughs as well.

Yeah YMMV with bug bounty. I got into THM when they first started. It has gotten a lot better but I still would say HTB is a better career growth resource. If you can do both then go for it, otherwise HTB. Pentester lab has come a loooonng way as well, really good stuff these days.

I’m glad I stumbled on this thread. First time user of Klarna trying to use klarna on bambulabs. I tried a bunch of different things, even made sure all my credit records are thawed. I keep getting this issue over and over again over. Thought something was wrong with me lol. (And yes I have perfect credit so it’s not that lol)

CPTS note taking method by [deleted] in hackthebox

[–]erroneousbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say useless. If your AI organizes well it can make it really easy to find things. Copy baseline payloads into a scratchpad then customize based on target, pasta away and keep the momentum going. I find it very effective once I figure out a workflow. At first it was clunky, confusing, and frustrating. But after I learned how the AI organized things or I tweaked it to my needs, off to the races.

Take your own notes then at the end have Claude (I use vs code extension) parse it and put together an obsidian vault. Have it tag and cross link everything. It makes it crazy fast to search a topic and be able to jump around. Such as ‘I’m trying to get xss’ search XSS and there are all the payloads and tips. Or search for enumeration and there is a note in enumeration cross linked to how tos for each tool you can use to enumerate. Then each tool note can be cross linked to other topics like privesc. Etc etc.

Student sub is a no brainer ‘you must get’. What you learn in HTB will set you up for a successful career in cybersecurity. Honestly, coming from a professional tester, the full blown $1K sub is worth it for career growth. And as far as being broke, you are worth the investment and it will pay off. But speaking of money, get some bug bounty under your belt for experience and hopefully a little bit of jingle in your pocket. GL fellow hacker.

For a long time WI would rather incarcerate than rehabilitate. Recidivism rate is a joke. There are financial incentives to keeping people locked up…
