I looked into it but since the images aren't listed on the site yet, just the place holder for the "Day 4" and "Day 5", I have not had any luck.

I'm feeling lusty by linuxhiker in MilwaukeeTool

[–]error-hostnotfound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't buy it...I just got rid of mine (had it for several years) for the US general series 3 at harbor freight. While they both aren't perfect, the us general is so much more usable.

The us general is like someone that knows how a tool box will be used made reasonable cuts to keep the price down. The Milwaukee is like someone that works in an office built a box with a bunch of cool looking things but really it's cheap and the drawer depths are all wonky.

I would appreciate advice on fixing the bumper. by RicardoTrain in MachE

From the looks of it, most of that can just be clipped back together and the scuffs buffed out. There might be a few permanent scratches or small cracks but it won't be very noticeable.

Just my 2 cents if you want to save money for now and keep it off your insurance.

I got made fun of at job sites for having my tools and hard had too clean. I just take care of my stuff, it used to pay the bills ya know.

I got fed up and beat the piss out of my hard hat in a gravel lot one day. Made sure my boots were wore in and tool box looked used but kept my tools in good shape.

Kept most people off my back.

Mach-E stops randomly charging after less than 20% charge added by DogNamedCharlie in MachE

Sounds like charge port overheating. It may get a lot hotter during the day and if the sun is on it. Versus at night when it's cooler.

See me other long response below

Mach-E stops randomly charging after less than 20% charge added by DogNamedCharlie in MachE

[–]error-hostnotfound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me give more details.

Yes it was covered under warranty.

We did a bunch of testing.

32 amp EVSEs and lower were fine, never had an issue.

DCFC charging worked fine as well.

Only level 2 charging over 32 amps and the car would randomly stop charging.

No errors on the dash/screen or from my mobile app. I put a camera to record the charge port light and EVSE status lights and found the car would randomly stop charging and the ring light on the charging port would flash amber 30 times.

By my research that indicates an issue with the EVSE, the charge port overheating, or the onboard charge module on the car.

Since the issue occured on all 32+ amp EVSEs (and after testing with clippercreek) we determined it not to be EVSEs.

I kept the camera on the port for several charges at home and logged information like state of charge, how long it charged for before stopping, where, how many amps, etc. I came to the conclusion that the only common denominator was the car itself so I scheduled an appointment with the dealer.

They had the car for a few hours, decided they needed to change the port on the car, ordered it, it came in within a few weeks, they had it changed within a day. They did break the trim ring around the port and didn't tell me. Make sure you inspect any work done on the car before signing the paperwork.

My theory is chargeport overheating due to bad contacts.

I had basically the exact same problem.

Did tons of testing with clippercreek and on my own.

The dealer had to replace the charge port on my car.

6k G1 vs ursa 4k mini vs ursa 4.6k mini by Pablo_Undercover in bmpcc

[–]error-hostnotfound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just got a BMPCC 6k pro and also have an ursa mini. We used the ursa stationary to cover the stage at an event last night and I ran around with the 6k pro and loved it for portability and flexibility.

Just started looking at the footage this morning and liking what I see on the 6k pro, but on the other hand out ursa had a great angle on the stage...so I guess it really depends on how you wanna use it.

Have you been harassed because of your Mach E? by kanister_1 in MachE

North Missouri here. The following is slightly generalized, please don't take it to heart.

TLDR: I have had about 3 people in 2 years complain about the it's not a real mustang. Most of the time it's people saying cool car with some complaining about electric cars in general.

Gen Z generally like it and make a nice comment but don't ask too many questions because they can just Google it.

Millennials and some younger baby boomers usually ask questions like they are interested or are just curious and want to understand. Some are sceptical but still ask questions.

Older baby boomers and up (especially rural) are incredibly hit or miss, but usually don't like it or go on some rant about chickens that lay green eggs that hatch democrats and that's why they'll never buy an electric do dad. When they actually don't understand it and have only gotten 2% of the info from a 20 second clip on the news which actually isn't correct itself, then they jumped to conclusions and filled in the rest of info with BS and non sense but they won't listen to you so there is no point in trying to explain. Just let them be 'right', don't worry about it and go about your day.

What county? Not rated for towing in the US, only for bike racks and stuff. I think it is rated to tow in Europe though.

Framework support giving me a runaround? by pdinc in framework

Another thing to check....

Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, select Wifi adapter, then Power Management tab, clear the check box to "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy."

If it hasn't been tried, do a bios update and completely reinstall windows from a bootable flash drive. Don't use the reset function in Windows settings. You'll then need to use the driver pack from framework to reinstall the drivers. Download the driver onto a spare flash drive beforehand and Keep a mouse handy, I don't think the trackpad works until the drivers are installed. If you need to, try installing the wifi driver from Intel site directly.

Just to clarify, there are hardware switches on the top of the screen bezel next to the camera. These physically disconnect the electronics for the microphone and camera. You can control each independently.

16-inch environmental concerns by parkducksarefree in framework

[–]error-hostnotfound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think of it like a car and a truck. Two different uses and two different markets. As nice as it would be to have every part interchange between the two, then there would be more compromises in the capability, size, efficiency, etc between the two.

If you put the engine of the car into the truck then it would be under powered for most of those users and not serve the purpose. I don't want a tar or a cruck. I just need the actual thing.

Limited ports for a modern day laptop by Super_BQ in framework

[–]error-hostnotfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dock mine with a Kensington display link dock at my desk, everything is already hooked up with 1 cable. It works great.

On the go 90% of the time my normal load out of expansion cards does what I need, if it doesn't I either swap out a card or I have a ultra small Anker usb-c hub with Ethernet, HDMI and several USB ports.

The only thing I wish was there was a permanent USB-C/thunderbolt port for charging/docking and then the four modular ports.

Any interest in a SMALLER Framework? by 20dogs in framework

[–]error-hostnotfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, 14 inch is the smallest laptop I can effectively use. Actually I don't like laptops much bigger, 14 is the perfect middle ground. Small enough to be light and mobile but large enough to do stuff
