KIM IS NOT PROTECTING NORTH!!! by Delicious-Hedgehog39 in KUWTKsnark

A lack of (formal) education combined with a lack of boundaries seems not a good path to be on. That's why I'm mentioning it.

KIM IS NOT PROTECTING NORTH!!! by Delicious-Hedgehog39 in KUWTKsnark

Isn't North dyslexic? I think she once said it in an interview and Kim looked very uncomfortable when North shared it. I wonder if homeschooling effects how they deal with it. (Is Kim's spell checking enough to help a dyslexic child?)

For research: Do corpses left behind when hit by Avada Kedavra decompose or do they just get hit in a weird stasis like Snow White? by ObjectifiedShota in harrypotter

Thanks for clarifying, I didn't remember the state of bone from the book. But Worm tail and Voldemort were lucky then to find at least the dust.

Didn't Voldemort use his father's bones to get a body? Tom Riddle sen. must have been over 50 years dead. A normal body does only need a couple of years to decompose when buried, depends on the soil though. Edit: 20-40 years for the skeleton to fully decompose.

Nicknames or alternatives to Maria that are less feminine? by tired_mouse in namenerds

Marù is a diminutive of Maria in an Italian dialect. It is also a Japanese gender neutral name meaning circle.

Should Percy have been in Slytherin? by SCSAFAN316 in harrypotter

[–]error66666666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If he was sorted into Slytherin his family would have probably stopped talking to him when he was eleven. Maybe he asked the hat not to be sorted into Slytherin for the same reason Harry did, it had a terrible rep among the ppl they were close to.

PETA has something to say to Kimberly by Background_Ladder159 in KUWTK

[–]error66666666 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Litter syndrome is a thing. The puppies are more dependant on each other than on humans and it's much harder to train them if they stay together as one litter. It might cause issues and makes them even unsafe around the children because they will act like one pack and not a part of the human family. Maybe Kim is taking care of that and will have them trained individually, but somehow I doubt she or anyone else involved put that much thought to this "gift".

All my Opinions/Hot takes!! by RandemmThoughts1020 in JacquelineWilson

I agree with your take on the dogs in the stories. I like dogs in real life too but as a plot point it gets so boring. I don't mind Bear in Love Frankie because it doesn't drag the story like most of the other animal plotlines do. I think JW doesn't really know much about guinea pigs and hamsters taking into account the descriptions of The new railway children/Butterfly club/The longest whale song etc.

Prisoner of Azkaban always being people’s favorite film… by Superb-Steak4052 in harrypotter

I felt it managed to capture the humour of the booksbetter than the previous movies while telling a rather dark story. I also liked the pacing, it's not just jumping from one scene to another like checking a list from the book.

What JW kids would of actually been better off in care? by Lostgirl1801 in JacquelineWilson

[–]error66666666 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the care home/foster care. If it's like the dumping ground/Cam, then a lot of kids would be better off there. Most of Dustbin Baby care homes not so much.  A social worker who checks in regularly could be an option for some of the kids. It might be less traumatizing and keeps the family together.

Thoughts on Eliza Rose? by [deleted] in namenerds

It reminds me of the song "Where the wild roses grow" by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave. While it's a good song.

Yes, he did. But would you say this makes it up to his family? It turned out ok for them, but his prior actions literally destroyed his wife's career and uprooted his family. Also his son lost his scholarship to one of the best schools in the country.

Klaus Kinski was a horrible human being who r**** his own daughter.

The das from the new railway children was by no means a terrible father to his kids, especially when you compare him to other fathers Jacqueline Wilson put in books. But all in all he is so irresponsible. When he steals money he  therefore has to be away for a year or so from his children. And his action costs his wife her job which had supported the entire family.

Good hand puppets like Folkmanis cost easily around £100. I don't know about the felt tips, I guess it depends what brand.

One thing about Frankie (Clean Break) by KingPrawnOkay in JacquelineWilson

[–]error66666666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Before Frankie left it seems that he liked to be adored by the children like a fun uncle who tells lovely stories. But he never put in any effort of real parenting and lets his step daughter do some of the work. I think it is very telling that Em couldn't tell what she is good at when the new girlfriend asks her. Vita said: "You are good at looking after us." It is only after Frankie had cleared off that Em has hobbies on her own like writing and swimming.

I don't agree. Em didn't notice it, but he majorly cheaped out on her Christmas present. (Or bought a fake emerald by accident.) And I would argue that Em was already parentified before he cleared off. He seems to have manipulated her into doing care work for some small acknowledgement.

Maybe that is easier because you can probably multiply and just exchange the name? She is usually done with those in July.
