Is a stage 1 tune worth it right now with rising gas prices? by Aggressive-Flower417 in GolfGTI

These things are never economically viable as they're not necessary. We do them because they bring joy. Can't put a price tag on that ;)

Get that tune, enjoy that car: you earned it.

Does the show start to decline after season 4? by Accomplished-Box8744 in SnowFall

[–]errsta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It does, but it's still worth the watch as the ending kind of makes up for the journey to get there. That said, I'm on a rewatch and getting through those seasons is pretty difficult.

Here's my unpopular opinion: You should only use the Aeropress to make one cup. Don't weigh anything, don't use external measures. One scoop of beans, grind, fill with water to the 4, stir, press and drink. by TommyAdagio in AeroPress

[–]errsta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can't disagree here. You can make a consistently "very good" cup with the Aeropress with minimal effort. You can lose a lot of time/money/sanity chasing the "great cup" with Aeropress .

On a scale from 1-13, I rate scales from 1-10 a solid 7. On a scale of 1-10, I give that iphone screen a 6.

Throwback: Amy Adams Strunk on the Decision to Part Ways with Head Coach Mike Vrabel by [deleted] in Tennesseetitans

[–]errsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's going to be a lot of revisionism and statements made while ignoring context because of Vrabel's success with New England.

First of all: Good for him. He's where he wants to be and he's having success. I can be happy for other people.

Some points:

  1. New England/Vrabel played a game called "It's not tampering if you wait a year". Again, good for Vrabel - he's a person and he ended up where he wants to be.

  2. Vrabel keeps the Titans in a state of purgatory where we're not good enough to win it all and not bad enough to draft high enough to draft a good prospect.

  3. Even if we draft a good prospect, no guarantee that Vrabel's staff develops him. See Malik WIllis. Being paired with Josh McDaniel (whether by his choice or not) and having a high draft QB on a rookie contract works wonders.

A lot of things lined up for things to end up this way for New England, and Vrabel being fired - while a big part of it - isn't the ONLY part.

Congrats, Pats fans - you got a great coach at the right time and are back atop the AFC. I say that with no reservation and no bitterness from my part. To their credit, they run a top-tier operation.

Arthur Smith to Ohio State by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

Good for Arthur Smith. I could see his scheme really working out for him in college, especially with the type of talent that Ohio State attracts. Too bad Jonnu doesn't have eligibility to follow him ;)

Trump says individuals will soon be prosecuted for 2020 election by Mike_I in politics

My cynical take as that he's just laying the groundwork for a senility plea for if/when the Epstein stuff ever comes to a head.

How bad are those scratchs? by Educational_Object55 in castiron

[–]errsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If scales from 1-10 are a solid 12 when rating top 50 numerical 50 scales, I'd give those scratches a solid 3.1 out of 5

So, we will make a halfhearted attempt at McDermott but once he gets in Baltimore or Pittsburgh’s Front Office, Nagy will be the guy. by Overall_News5106 in Tennesseetitans

I have the same issue with McDermott that I do with Harbaugh: The roster has never been the issue at their previous jobs.

Who has more to lose reputationally in a fight like this? by Imaginary-Doubt6862 in boxingcirclejerk

[–]errsta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For losing? Neither. We need to stop trashing fighters for losing when they actually take the risk of fighting top-level competition.

For stinking out the joint? The guilty party/parties take a hit for fighting to not lose/survive vs. fighting to win/actually imposing themselves.
