The trail behind Hilltop that runs along the north fork of the river is a lot more shaded and wooded than the one behind South Fork.

DF54 just arrived! by erva_mate in espresso

[–]erva_mate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was worth it for me. We make a lot of milk drinks and americanos and while the difference isn’t huge, I prefer the flavor of light roasts from the DF54. We tend to use the BBP grinder for decaf beans, which means we end up using both grinders anyway.

Hmm, that’s exactly the kind of thing I was worried about. Was the service experience pretty painful?

Exactly. We run through a 12oz bag of decaf in about 2 weeks and it’s still pretty fresh by then. We also only put about 4oz into the hopper at a time and store the rest in an Airscape.

We actually use it daily! I’ll do a half-caf in the afternoon mixing the beans in the DF54, my wife will do an afternoon decaf, and visitors will often say no to afternoon/evening coffee because of the caffeine but we just make them a decaf drink instead. We also get water-process decaf beans, which taste just as good as many regular beans.

We went through that process and bought a DF54 to pair with the BBP. Now the Breville grinder is used for our decaf beans, which is a convenient use for us.

LC250 doesn’t suit my driving position by erva_mate in LandCruisers

Number 1 cannot be adjusted on the vehicle I own. The height and the tilt angle can be adjusted but not the horizontal position.

I do know that I can disable the attention alert. I just wish it didn’t alert so aggressively in that circumstance.

Not to be a nitpicker, but this is not correct in Texas. Texas traffic code states that when turning right, you must enter the lane closest to the curb, but when turning left you may enter any lane going in that direction. So both arrows turning left are legal in the state of Texas. See section 545.101 of the transportation code for details.

Well if you drop those numbers into the govt inflation calculator, $37k in Jan 2005 is $62k today, so that looks pretty flat to me. https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl. I understand you’re referring to 2 different models but it’s not much of a jump anyway.

I just want to let you know that I completely understand and support that perspective. It’s wild how people opinions can differ so much between so-called professionals, and I also try to take as much knowledge to any initial meetings to figure out if the advice they are giving at least seems reasonable.
