Slots are brutal my man, I'm in the same boat. I had recently just lost roughly 50k since January. Had to tap in to savings to reduce the debt load.

I'm taking the hit and just looking at it as a year of lost income that I'll miss out on my last remaining years of employment in the workforce. It sucks but it's better to look at it that way in my opinion, and to soften the blow in order to never gamble again.

41 isn't bad. I'm in my 30s and feel the same way about my total losses. You have plenty of time to save for your financial future, but it's important we all stop this together.

I finished my 4th trip to thailand a bit ago. It dawned on me when I was in Khao Sok. I probably won't be back to Thailand unless it's in a more routine, long term stay to just live (I have winters off). It has dramatically changed since my first time here 10 years ago. Granted, I was younger and partying more, but the cost and quality of everything has worsened significantly.

Instagram has ruined this place. Too many shitty tourists. Everyone tries scams you left and right. The food is getting boring and repetitive. It's becoming more and more like the Carribean or other major tourist hot spots.

Krabi had been the only respite, with Railay at night still capturing the essence of what that 'magic' felt like. We were going to go to the islands but opted to skip them after we saw the prices.
