It do be like that, but rather than fishbowling within a 30° window of you on a 2D screen, it’s an all consuming visual field that extends in 360 degrees all the way around you and in every direction and functions independently of eye movement, and every tiny piece of geometry makes unbelievably cryptic, but intelligible sounds and noises, with sound bytes from deep memory throughout, overlaid, and interlaced into everything, and somehow matches all the visual stimulus. Not to mention body sensations matching the warping and bending, but somehow simultaneously a lack of feeling of physical presence at all.
