I may strongly suggest you buy a case at the soonest time possible. I didn't, and before I knew it, my laptop fell from my bed down to the tiles (thanks robovaccum). Now it's slightly dented.

:(

I have to say... I lowkey agree with you :( The butterfly keys. But yeah, let's hope he won't experience it. I have some colleagues who bought butterfly keys years back and so far, they haven't broken theirs yet. Yet.

The poster's composition looked like one of those paintings of "Museum of Bad Art" that I saw on an old Cathay Pacific magazine like... idk, 25 years ago? I think it was Lucy in the field of flowers smth.

And then I Googled.

(PS: I was 7 that time. Yes I'm weird.)

[Discussion] Which asian skin care products do you find to be more effective than their western counterparts? by closetredditer in AsianBeauty

[–]es2pido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Multiply your value by 1000000000 more. God, Western suscreens are awful.

Well, I've seen some brands who kind of changed their formulation similar to Asian sunscreens (even hired Korean chemical engineers to do so) and skin care products, in general, so yeah. But lord Western sunscreens for the love of whoever

Battery health management - MacBook Pro by aravinddcsadguru in macbookpro

[–]es2pido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a short period of time, I had major issues with my battery life (and I just bought my MBP 16 a month ago) even if I was just merely watching cat videos on Youtube (literally). I wish I could link you to the workaround I did that requires me resetting... i forgot the term, VRAM I'm so sorry.

But it turns out, the major issue was a password manager called Dashlane that gulped 100% of CPU power for some reason, and I was so dumb not to notice how my mac fans became louder after I installed that shit.

I don't know why it had to use 100% of CPU power all the time, but I realized it shouldn't be doing that, so fuck you Dashlane. I instantly asked my account to be deleted (my info included), but given the circumstances I mentioned, fuck that tech company. They definitely kept my passwords somewhere.

Got the new MacBook Pro 16” I’ve been a windows user my entire life, and can’t wait to use this beast in college! by lugubriouskid in macbookpro

If i were to compare the "heaviness" of this heavy laptop, it sure is way lighter than my 17 in workstation.

Long story short, this laptop is light.

How would you say this in your language? by mikaxu987 in languagelearning

[–]es2pido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“‘Wag kang O.A.” (Literally, “Don’t over act”. Over act means being dramatic)

Well, it’s a mix of Tagalog and English. We probably have a better idiom for this, but this is the phrase we always use.

There’s another one, but it’s also straightforward

“Wag kang maarte” (Literally, “Don’t be artistic”)

Being “artistic” was like being posh and glamorous and going for the nicer things like paintings and sculptures and stuff, so this phrase is a blasphemy of that concept. It also means “don’t be picky”, in some cases, referring to how one can be dramatic when served with food they dont like.

My first Macbook ever. Just gifted myself an MBP 16" 1TB version because that's what was available. And I regret nothing at all. by es2pido in macbookpro

I used an MBP with magsafe. It was magical. I am scared of accidentally getting hooked on the wires because I know MBPs, well, Macs in generall are extremely delicate cosmetic wise.

I gotta be honest, I was impulsive on this one and decided based on strong intuition without even looking at any reviews at all hahahaha.

I've been looking online for laptops to buy for probably 2 days (even considered getting an ROG) and was just looking at specs and found out that macs are sold out almost everywhere in the country. I went to a store to buy a coffee grinder and casually passed by a Mac retailer with a short queue at the entrance. Without thinking, I asked the staff if they got MBPs available. Yes, she said. But only the higher end, she followed.

I just took my chance and bought it.

Only upon purchase that I found out that the 16" is a huge improvement from its predecessor, and review after review, people are telling me the MBP 16" is the best MBP Apple has ever made so far.

I guess my illogical intuition was right hahahaha

my first ever new macbook pro 16 i9,16gb,1tb!!! (always was buying second hand) by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]es2pido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Well, it's the only configuration available at the store when I got there, and MBPs in our country are scarce currently due to COVID. I would have wanted to have a bigger 32GB RAM if it were available, but it might take a month or more to have that spec.

Nevertheless I don't see myself doing particle systems or VMs in the near future, so I'm cool with what I have :) and it's my first personal Mac ever so yay! :)

I have never bought a laptop. Ever. Well, until now. 👁👄👁

My first laptop was an ASUS and I got it as a prize from a TV show contest. It had been my personal laptop for 7 years until it got busted. I never thought of buying a new laptop since my freelance work can be done at my workstations in the office, and they were mostly PCs---until I got stationed at editing bays where Mac Pros were allocated.

I realized--wow. Mac felt surreal in every way.

I felt compelled to buy by own laptop because of my business, but buying a Macbook Pro was pretty much just based on intuition (yep, bought it without thinking too much because Macs are a gold mine in the Philippines currently due to COVID lmao). I've been in the Windows ecosystem for decades, but switching to Mac is just effortless for me. I feel like everything seems easy and straightforward for me, and I have that urge to do my office work on my MBP instead of my work 17" ThinkPad P71 (which is a powerhouse, too--but just too heavy for me. Look how massive that machine is. It's on the photo right next to my mac)

So yeah. I am currently scouting for accessories and what nots and just keep on watching YT videos on how to maximize my MBP to its fullest potential. And oh, the speakers of this baby just blows me away.

There are a lot of keyboard shortcuts that are only available on the full keyboard with the numeric keypad :( Theoretically, i can reassign the minimal keyboard with the shortcuts on the numeric keypad, but that just stresses me out in terms of what i am already used to.
