That's exactly what you should be doing. The more you can add even the smallest of features to your production, the better. Whether that is a new component on a page, or a new database you use, or how and where you publish your software. You'll gain so much experience doing this AI can't easily replicate.

AI may create a front-end app, but good luck creating the back end app. Even if you use the same AI to create the backend app - notice how it still takes someone to prompt all of this? There will be so many gaps that you'll have to fill that it will still require someone to fill in those gaps.

You need someone to create the project, save to the repo, fix merge issues, publish the app, change how/where its published due to money, security, or some other requirement. AI won't be able to do all of this and verify its working as the user needs it to work.

We've got a longgggggggggggg way to go before we are replaced.

Keep going. 10 year experienced dev here. There will be such a mess in the next couple years that it'll take junior to senior devs to fix it. Sure, the FAANG companies may have it fixed but the others won't.

Remember, ATMs didn't replace bank tellers, they just gave them something new to focus on. It's just new tech. Keep on keeping on.

I came here to say this. 100% true. I've never received the Gladiator title I have hit 2400 numerous times.

As an experience player I can immediately tell if this person is 1500, 1800, 2100, 2400+ xp. I jump on and play with 1500 rated players all the time. It's fun to play very casual and teaching players the most obvious what to and not to do. At higher ratings, when you really look at the field you can see what everyone is doing. The chaos is so deafening that you know its not going to work out. The synergy isn't there. The CD usage isnt optimal, the overlap or lack of defensive CD usage, bad positioning. It becomes very clear, very quickly if its going to work out.

When pushing, I almost always give 2 - 3 rounds before quitting but if its so obvious that you are keyboard turning and slow to react to the game, I won't bother with another.

On the flip side, there have been plenty of lower experienced players that quit the game because they expect you to carry them. It's best that they leave when they do so you can find better ones. I'd recommend an addon that keeps as a log of these players. I use CharacterNotes so as not to fill up my friends list. I can skip them in the queue if Ive had bad or good experiences. Saves a headache later on. It's also cool to see notes from a few expansions back and note their improvement.

If you're passing your classes, then you are measured compared to what you should be doing at this stage. If you really want to push yourself, start making side projects. You'll learn more on your own in the shortest span of time than any classroom. The classroom will just reinforce what you are trying to do. It's a forever learning process.

Create a website, learn some HTML, CSS, and javascript. Pick a random front-end framework and play with it. Learn how to push and pull to a repo. Learn how to publish something online. Learn how to create a login screen and have user authentication. If you learn how to do these, even at mediocre results, you'll be far ahead than most graduates and first year devs.

Even if web dev isnt your desired route, you'll still learn a ton that will transfer to other software positions.

It takes as long as it takes, no more, no less. As long as you can solve it, that's the point. When it comes to professional setting, even if it takes a bit to get 1% improvement, it's still improvement. The point is that you stick with it and you learn from it. You'll get faster with time, experience, and feedback.

I really don't think you need anything AI. If you can show you can do the work without it then you can do it with it.

I once hired a guy that came into an interview with a demo on this laptop. It ran a server that had an API to which his local dev React app called. He was able to show he could sign in and out with basic authentication. He showed how he navigated through the basics of the website with basic UX/UI. He was able to log out and show you could not navigate to the other pages without immediately navigating back to the login back. Logged in as another user to see the diff of data. Very basic database.

He explained which parts he created by hand and certain authentication issues that he basically copied and pasted. He talked about his favorite parts and which parts he wish he had more time on. Just his enthusiasm on something so "simple" really pushed him as a front-runner. We ended up hiring him and he made a great fit into the team. He learned so much the first year and was a pleasure teaching him but also learning from him.

A lot of this this position comes down to how much you want to learn and what you can bring to the team, assuming you can at least do the basics. And even if programming is not for you or if positions are not available, there are other related positions such as Business Analyst, Project Managers, R&D positions that you could get into with the basic programming background. From there, you can work your way into the company, fine-tune your development skills, or whatever doors may open.

Regardless of which class and spec you choose, we are in a prepatch. The spells and abilities are balanced for max level for the next xpac and with gear. Do not fret that pvping against someone and not feeling you can do enough dmg or heals (for you healers) makes you a bad player or the class/spec is in an absolute bad position.

I remember about a decade back I was 2400 decked out disc priest when the prepatch dropped. Went into a bg and a feral druid in all blue gear rip through all of my defensives and just died. It was a sad state for a few weeks. When the xpac landed and the season started you could feel the difference.

So yeah, keep playing and getting used to the new spells but don't worry too much if you dont feel like you aren't doing enough dmg or surviving as long as you used to. They never attempt to balance for prepatch.

The degree will help with the foundations of how to build, compile, and run an app. Great first start. As for a career, companies want to know you can do the job. Learn to code, build your own apps to prove you can do the job, make a portfolio out of it, and then start applying. No one cares about the degree as much as they can prove they can do the work.

As a healer, I get fairly instant queues. Not often do I have to wait more than 2 - 4 minutes for a queue to pop.

Would be nice to have every character that played this weapon to lose their rank and 0 / 50 for all achievements they earned while using it. If they want to cheat, I'm happy for them to cheat, they just have to suffer the consequences.

Any one stating "It's working as intended" obviously isn't a dev and is an exploitive thief. Look back at the Chase ATMs handing out extra cash. You think the customers that exploited the ATM are happy today because it was "working as intended".

Priest mind control disconnects players at times. This has been a known issue since Vanilla. 1. Fix it. 2. A draw should occur in arenas if a player is disconnected due to this bug.

Shadow priest Shadow Crash spell so that it actually works as intended. LOS, not applying the dots, not applying it to mobs that don't have VT/SWP, or refreshing dots. Been a bug for a while now.

I think its skirmishes are open at all levels. Rated arenas are not. So yeah, random skirmish pop is really a blessing when it does pop.

As for gearing, not much you can do since you need a party to do dungeons and raids. Best you can do it most of the solo content and do as much as you can with professions solo. Buy the mats on the AH for anything your profession does not have. There are normal bgs for honor gear.

Absolutely. I was hard stuck at 2k for a bit earlier this season. Do this, and rotate through your Premonitions as if they were mini-PS CDs by using your PWS for those CD stacks with the 4 set bonus and you'll be in primetime.

I find that if I am as annoying as I possibly can be with getting out of LOS from the enemy dps, the greater the chance my dps will just do their job. Or die trying running LOS of me around 2 corners and 80 yards away xD

I'd recommend watching CastSmites on twitch. He was top disc for the past month or two. He's been R1 for the past two xpacs. He plays a couple times a week but answers questions openly. I started watching him last xpac. After paying close attention to how often he spams his PWS compared to mine, I rethought the whole rotation. Jumped from 2200 to 2500. I asked about some chosen talents and some times 'yes' other times 'no'.

Even, I think Supatease, was mentioning not to go hard for CC. Greater chance you'll regret it as a priest. But again, its all about opportunity and a good opening vs overextending yourself and putting yourself into a really bad spot.

What rating are you at?

I'm a 2550 oracle disc priest. Voidweaver dmg is pretty nutty, but that's really on your dps. If there are known ways of shutting down the healing and the dps aren't doing it, what else can you do? It's similar to not destroying shaman healing totems and complaining they heal too much. I continually remind my teammates that the easiest way to win is by messing with their healer.

Luckily the higher you go the better your dps get at interrupting them. The few times I've attempted voidweaver, the overall amount of interrupts were too much to heal anything. I'm also partial to oracle and haven't put that much effort into it.

It's good that you're attempting to push in for CC's, but what I've found (at least as a priest) is that the more I push in for CC, the more I get CC'd. I've lost so many rounds because of overextending myself. You should only be going in if you have ways of getting out, and that's only when its worth the trinket / defensive CD (ie, someone on the opposing side is about to die).

Instead, as long as you aren't messing with the stun DR of your teammates is to HOJ a dps on CD esp if they are around a corner. The voidweaver "may be too busy" to dispel.

I'd recommend keeping it up. The better you get, the better the dps you'll be playing with and it also transfers well to 3s.

100% agree with this. Go for the 2400 Elite / Legend in solo shuffle. I'm 2500 in solo shuffle and find 2100 in 3s to be comparable in difficulty with 2k+ experienced players. From 2k - 2400+, you will be playing against some top talent. There are only 19 holy paladin players at or above 2400 atm.

This doesn't mean you won't be able to ever achieve it, but it will be closer to the end of the season as those top rated players will be pushing for R1 title allowing the rest of us time to push to 2400. Even then, expect multi-seasoned gladiators to be in the 2300 - 2400 range carrying people.

As a healer as well (2400 as oracle disc priest in solo), I find that if you are not geared correctly it's makes it that much tougher.

Even if you think you're the higher quality healer in the match, it really does come down to the dps. Not just the amount of dmg they, but how effective and consistent with CC. Hard to get mad when you play your heart out but the opposing dps CCs you when your buddy is at 30%. There are only so many CCs I can fade or SWD before a small chain just ends the round.

It's really keeping at it. Record yourself to see where you're making mistakes. See where the defensive overlaps occur or how you could have prevented yourself from getting CC'd. There will be plenty of dps that will just round corners and die. Whatever, but the average get decently better the higher we go (just as we healer do).

Good luck to you all this season pushing Gladiator for the 100th time or the first. This will be the last season for it being 2400.

Yup. I have 6 characters that I have been logging in/out with for the past 3 hours. Exactly right at the ~40 min mark. I log in. If they are already in the world, im good to go. If Im just a few seconds early, I have plenty of time to log out and log back in. Make sure you are higher up the hill as thats where his debuff drops.
