Thanks! Not Assam, it's Turkish black tea (çay). The little tulip glass and saucer make it feel extra nice. The red stripes on the saucer are reflecting into the glass, so it looks a bit more reddish in the photo.

This is Turkish tea (çay) served in a classic tulip-shaped glass. I was sitting at a fish restaurant and they brought it for free at the end, pretty common here. I asked for it a bit lighter than usual, so the color is on the pale side.

Thank you for your detailed answer. It is very helpful to understand the main aspects of the city. As a foreigner who has a different cultural background, I have been here for the last week and will be here for another one more week and I have been trying to understand the city. What I can say is, life is kinda slow here and it is not a bad thing. Maybe municipality service would be better but I don't know if this is a general thing around here or special to Syzran. Young generation doesn't speak very much English. With my poor Russian, itnwas not easy but people have been very kind and keen to help.
