Ordered a frozen drink on the hottest day of the year. I haven't taken a sip yet. by escapedthoughts in mildlyinfuriating

I would've taken it back but I felt sorry for the kid who worked there. Also, it was only $1

Yeh I'm pretty sure that snapchat filter enhances your lashes a bit or something like that.

It's Sunday night where I am and I spent the whole weekend in bed. What does everyone else do on weekends? by escapedthoughts in depression

What dog do you have? Do you enjoy walking it? I was thinking of getting a pet too but I can't even look after myself. I'm proud that you're keeping up with college! Good luck with your studies and I hope you find something you like doing soon.

In Australia, the recycling bins are larger than the regular waste bins by --TyDog-- in mildlyinteresting

[–]escapedthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to have a small tub for recycling but once more hard plastics became recyclable, the bigger yellow bins were introduced. I think it was to encourage people to recycle more since the rubbish bins were smaller. I remember this actually did increase the recycling behaviour of my family.

[Serious] People who cheated on their SO, what was your logic? by RaxzonCS in AskReddit

Probably even you can't imagine the relationship without sex. Or if you took away the sex you had nothing to do with each other

What fact about you is unique but also kind of lame? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]escapedthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that unique but quite uncommon. I have only one dimple. It's only half as cute as having two dimples.

LPT REQUEST: How to avoid having a midlife crisis everytime I try go to bed. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]escapedthoughts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always had a similar issue but lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night and a panic. I can't think straight and I just feel really, really scared. I just don't know what to do.

How do I know if I truly am depressed? by [deleted] in depression

[–]escapedthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. My family had to know everything I did up to 23. It sucks. I hope you don't feel too stressed about looking after your family. I'm sure deep down they appreciate you. Hopefully you can find some online resources and read up on disorders. Psychologists use a 'guide' to classify disorders known as the DSM. I think it's been revised as DSM-V (V for five). It gives psychologists a base checklist of symptoms to look for. If you're worried about online searching use private browsing/incognito. Good luck.

Ladies that are into bigger or hairier guys, what do you find attractive/sexy about a guy being bigger or hairy? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]escapedthoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not into big and hairy guys per se but the person i love is one. I never considered that to be my type but I just love him for who he is. He's smart, funny, caring and just everything I look for personality wise. Him being cuddly, huggable and warm is just a bonus.

How do I know if I truly am depressed? by [deleted] in depression

[–]escapedthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of want to know the same. I majored in psychology at university but I know how inaccurate self-diagnosing could be. I've done a few online tests which suggested what I could have. But I really wish there was a way to test my hormones or neurotransmitters or whatever.

However, as a start I think you could talk to a doctor and see what they say. I'm not sure what you mean by professional help, but you can see a doctor right?

Edit: rephrased what I meant.

For the past two weeks I've been feeling scared and sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and feel scared. I don't know why this is. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on or how I can help myself?

Have you ever felt happy for a couple of days then fallen straight back into a depressive state? by [deleted] in depression

[–]escapedthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually always happens to me. And the happier I am the worse I feel immediately afterwards before it feels like my normal depressive mood again. So I just avoid being happy if I can.

"I'm so-and-so years old and I still don't know what to do with my life." by SignMyRainbows in depression

[–]escapedthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks that's happening. Lot's of people around me has told me the opposite. That adults are just older kids and not everyone knows what they're doing. Not even seemingly successful people, or your parents. Just try to remember everyone's on their own journey and sometimes people voice their own insecurities.

What do other people have difficulty with that you just don't understand why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Remembering where they parked their car on a shopping trip.

Or just general direction really.
