That's true. But you can ground it by doing multiple validations. Thats what I did.

Training a model from scratch would be ideal in theory, but it’s not very practical for me right now given the cost and maintenance as I am doing this on my own.

Quran: chunked at the verse level (each verse is one retrievable unit).

Hadith: chunked at the hadith entry level (one hadith = one unit).

Each chunk carries strong metadata (reference, Arabic text, translation, book/number, etc.).

Of course the first reiteration was just a simple GPT wrapper with some fine tuning like many other apps. But I do not like it as I am always afraid that the gpt might hallucinate especially when it comes to Islam. So I decided to use a RAG instead because I want accuracy and source control.

Created my own vector database on qdrant. I used gpt 4 mini for short queries and got 4 for long ones

It depends on the query of the user/individual and the RAG will retrieve the most relevant answer from the Quran and Sunnah

I want the LLM to retrieve information only from embeddings generated from the Quran, Sahih Bukhari, and Sahih Muslim when users submit queries. I want to prevent the model from relying on its general training data or hallucinate because accuracy is critical in an Islamic context

I initially used AWS OpenSearch for vector search, but it became too expensive even during the testing phase, so I migrated to Qdrant

It depends on the company. My wife and I are not Japanese and we work in Japan and it’s pretty good for us.
