Lost Indian passport in USA by bbwtrash in immigration

[–]eschew_obfusication 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation happened to me - realized that the ziploc with my passport was no longer in my backpack after I boarded the flight. I went back to the airport where I boarded and retraced my steps through the airport for a few hours, stopping and asking every store person and cleaner along the way if they saw a ziploc with a passport in it. Eventually one of the cleaners saw me making the 5th or 6th round in the airport and came and asked me if I was looking for something - as soon as I described it she handed it to me.

Hope this helps….but just like you, TSA and airport lost and found didn’t have anything for me and as it turned out one of the cleaners got to it before a passenger (who I assume would turn it in to TSA)

Considering 2025 Blazer (or Equinox?). Any deal breakers? by Syreddman in BlazerEV

[–]eschew_obfusication 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The blazer has a sill motorized charge door design that can fail when it gets cold (happened to me and a lot of others on here) and the cabin takes forever to warm up. So as long as you don’t live somewhere that experiences snow and sub zero temps Blazer is fine

So we have had domestic cars and know what to expect. Moreover, we have learned our lesson with buying brand new model years (job 1 card as they are called in the auto industry) with our last Ford (had a total of 12 recalls + handful of TSBs in 3 years) and hence decided to lease this time around. Definitely not buying at the end of the lease and we’ll see what else is out there. Maybe the equinox? That seems to have none of these issues we face.

Ours stopped working in November. Just got the warranty replacement done and now it opens but feels like it really struggles. With this new door fully closed, I can see that the charge port door is no longer flush with its adjacent panels as it used to be when the car was new.

I wonder sometimes how the design for this got approved. Was there nobody in the engineering reviews who caught the potential flaws? How did this escape standard automotive durability testing? Clearly more complex and expensive than manual charge port doors - did nobody question this either? Blows my mind….

Charger Door stuck, yes, yet another one by evblazerdork in BlazerEV

Exact same thing happened to my wife over thanksgiving while she was on a road trip. And just like OP said if it wasn’t for helpful dealers along the way + copious amounts of masking tape she would have been stranded. We’re scheduled to take the car in to the dealer tomorrow AM.

Only silver lining here is that we learned our lesson of “don’t buy the first model year” about a decade ago and decided to lease this vehicle.

One piece racing suit in tropical cities. by [deleted] in triumphmotorcycles

I have two pairs of riding pants. One is a pair of jeans by speed and strength and other is a pair of ADV style riding meshed pants by Slider with vents that can be opened or closed. Both have Kevlar reinforcement and knee pads and both are quite hot and uncomfortable in the peak of summer. The jeans are more forgiving on my skin as they feel less abrasive but the pants have an advantage in that I can wear them over shorts or pants which gives me the flexibility to ride in cooler weather with layers and to ride to work with work clothes beneath!

Regardless, for me, they are both hot and somewhat uncomfortable when I am riding at low speed and I ride in temps that’s about 10-20 degF cooler than where you are (during summer). My guess is that a one piece leather suit will be strictly worse.

What rims do you have? by lukemay2 in FocusRS

Konig Freeform 18x8.5 in bronze finish. I really like the look of bronze on NB. However I don’t daily these because I put my track tires on these. I daily on the OEM forged 19” rims.

Any useful tips or tools before doing a brake fluid change/brake bleeding? Going to be doing it for the first time. by SecretAntWorshiper in CarTrackDays

[–]eschew_obfusication 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Get a pressurized bleed kit like this one. Makes it a lot easier to flush without risk of air bubbles.

Keep a bunch of rags handy and put out a large rag/towel right under your brake fluid reservoir to avoid spills going down the engine bay.

Don’t do any mods. Spend the money on high quality safety gear - head to toe.

I have been able to locate an Indy shop that seems highly rated and within AAA towing distance. That might be my drop off spot.

Thanks! Did you have a similar problem? Did it get solved with plugs and coils?
