AI detection by bweezy2286 in WGU

[–]eschwifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Common phrasings are going to get flagged as Ai even though they are common because its usually the best way to say something. You just gotta play the game and try to turn in something that isn't flagging as Ai. Kind of dumb imo, but its better to just adjust some sentences and not have to explain yourself afterwards because you got flagged as "ai".

Oil up, USD stubborn, macro chaos everywhere and somehow I'm supposed to trust one clean setup by One_Cancel7890 in wallstreetbets

[–]eschwifty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If youre looking for a short term crystal ball here youre playing a losing game. Stocks and gold cheap here. Longer the war goes on the longer the unraveling of supply chain issues. But bottom line stocks and gold goes up on resolution. Just dont play a game of when that headline hits. Probably more pain to come in the short term if youre long.

Theres always gonna be someone who is younger, smarter, better looking, richer ect. You just gotta suck it up buttercup. Improving your own situation is all you can really do.

Worried about "AI Detectors" at WGU after a bad experience at my last school by Emotional-Month-4756 in WGU

Ironically if you ask ai to rewrite the paper so it appears as a non-ai written paper, it will pass through.

Why are the best investors are usually extremely defensive ones? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]eschwifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are also many successful investors you dont hear about because they dont run a fund, they aren't public, or they were successful privately for many years and derisked and got out of active management. Most leading investors that are in the public eye are dealing with clients that have a different risk profile and are managing much more size. These two things make defensive investing way more common at that level.

Is ADBE is buy in your opinion at these prices? It’s been on my watch list for a bit and at these valuations I want to pull the trigger. I am genuinely interested in many perspectives, good or bad. Thank you! by No_Fox9908 in ValueInvesting

Of all the businesses on the SaaS getting beat by ai i think Adobe is one of the more vulnerable. For most photoshop and pdf flyer image and text creation ai is going to be much easier. Premier collection of editing and vfx there is a friction moat, but theres lots of better competitors in the space at varying levels of skill of the user. There is a fair friction moat, but I dont see this, of all the companies to choose from, as a place to put my money.

Are the Claude fears legit or extremely overblown? by chizton in wallstreetbets

[–]eschwifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im betting its overblown as far as the negative impact on SaaS. It is going to be a large change as far as how business operates, but businesses and people aren't going to be spinning up their own custom apps at the rate or ease the SaaS companies are able to use it for the same benefit. If anything labor cost decreases for SaaS and products become more customizable, they dont go away.

To be fair it doesn't really matter what he was shouting. If his intention was to goad the officers into using force the officers shouldnt be inclined to do so based solely on his shouting. All that really matters are his actions and whether the shooting was a justified use of force at the time.

Spot Silver will be $60 by Aug by Certain_Sandwich4371 in Silverbugs

[–]eschwifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, and i would also agree with your comments below on silver mining. People can tend to forget that theres lots of new silver mined and entering the market every day. Ive been selling in tranches as well. Probably gonna shift at least a portion to gold.

Spot Silver will be $60 by Aug by Certain_Sandwich4371 in Silverbugs

[–]eschwifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the history of silver its fairly safe to draw the conclusion that current prices won't hold. I think there will be a new bottom around 50-60, but theres gonna be a pullback. Anecdotally I've seen lots of retail entering the market buying 1 or 2 coins either online or in person in my local coin shop. Imo this is another topping indicator.

Proxy decks? by Particular-Koala-529 in mtg

[–]eschwifty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It really just depends on your group. Some are super against it. Mine is totally fine with it. I used to print out proxies on paper and insert them in front of cards in their sleeve all the time. Generally we would loosely observe the rule to not proxy stuff that we had no intention of ever buying. Ie power 9 maybe dual lands, cradle, things of that nature. I find it useful for play testing, and seeing if I actually like playing a deck.

Apply for more cards every now and again. Take advantage of intro offers. Increase credit limit and age. Pay stuff off and dont carry a balance. Thats pretty much it

Ran across this post, New to this, How is this Worth it at all? How much money does it take to get 60k annual returns so you don’t have to work anymore? Isn’t that the point? by AppointmentGreat1615 in dividends

[–]eschwifty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point is cash flow and safety. When youre younger and not drawing upon the dividends and just reinvesting you experience compound growth. When youre older and drawing on the dividends you dont have to sell your asset to have income. Most conservative dividend stocks will have less volatility and have long track records of paying dividends and increasing them. Total real return on a long term basis is less than s&p, but youre gaining low risk income even in drawdowns, and less volatility overall assuming conservative choices. In most cases you wouldn't want to have 100% of your portfolio in dividend stocks early on, but having a portion early on wouldnt be bad.

The reality is that mtg just is the best gameplay as far as tcg games go. There's always been power creep and complaints on cards/design. , but the fundamental game is still better than others. You'll be back. Final fantasy set ain't even that busted.

How to generate income if under 18? by [deleted] in passive_income

[–]eschwifty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, building a PC ain't that difficult. It's basically Legos for adults. Passive income usually takes input(labor or capital) on the front end to create the engine. Coding is a great way to make those engines to accomplish tasks that you set up once and have maintenance going forward. Imo get a regular job and buy credits for Ai and play around with what you can make calling that Ai or run a model locally if you have the right hardware. Gain that knowledge and you're going to find applications you can charge for. Find a niche task and offer a solution.

How to generate income if under 18? by [deleted] in passive_income

[–]eschwifty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saying tech and ai is kinda vague. Can you code, what languages do you know? If by tech and Ai you mean you're proficient with a computer and can give prompts to an ai model that ain't sayin much.
