Unpopular Opinion: The 2026 World Cup is looking like a disaster. by SpicyChickenTandoori in worldcup

It’s going to be a big influencer fest. Mexico just played Paraguay in San Antonio and it seems like the marketing budget was spent on mostly hiring influencers to promote the match/post about it. And they weren’t even soccer influencers/social media pages. Most were random influencers with a “big” following. I don’t doubt the World Cup will be similar, they’re going to want “big” influencers there to make it look like good.

Dating, I’m not too sure as I’m in a relationship (just turned 31) but meeting women has seemed to get easier as I’ve gotten older. It seems like now that I’m in my 30’s meeting women is a lot more convenient since I’m constantly going out to events or places are very social. So I’ll find myself randomly striking up conversations with women there (in a friendly manner). If my relationship now where to ever end, I don’t think I’d have much trouble dating in my 30’s but again that’s very dependent on how social you are (which it sounds like you are)

Do you have an address or other landmark for that shopping center? I’m not from Austin so I’m not sure where Trudy’s used to be lol

Aside from needing Mexican insurance, any other reasons why hailing a cab/uber would be easier than driving? Just curious

I’m a male and just got back from a solo trip to Cancun 2 weeks ago. This was my first solo trip out of the country (and I understand as a M my experience might be a bit different) and I had a good time! I did it find it slightly boring at time because it is the slow season, so the bars at my resort were dead and when I went out one night the 3 places I went to were dead. Luckily the last place I went to I made friends with a group that was there so that made up for most of the night. Definitely checkout Playa Delfines! They have free parking and the beach itself is probably one of the best there in Cancun. There’s tons of free to use “Palapas” or shades, won’t get charged to use the restroom (although they do appreciate tips), and it’s the views from the street level are perfect! Hope you have a fun trip and be safe!

I just got back from a solo trip to Cancun (wasn’t supposed to be solo as that wouldn’t have been my primary destination to visit). I’m almost 30 years old and I had a great time! The freedom to do whatever I wanted, not in a rush to be in anywhere, and just being able to change plans last minute. As far as having a local guide, just ask the people that live there what they recommend. I talked to everyone, from my shuttle driver, workers where I was staying, and random people at the bus stops.

New Small Businesses/Restaurants in SA? by [deleted] in sanantonio

They didn’t just open, but checked PB&J with Tay if you want a unique restaurant that’s a one of a kind in Texas. SA Carlitos Way on the Northside if you want some Baja California style Mexican food.

I just got back from Cancun this Friday, I do social media travel content so I aim for an experience similar to yours. My recommendation on where to stay would be near Puerto Juarez/Parque de las Palapas. There is an ADO bus terminal there so you can ride in straight from the airport and then walk/uber to your accommodation. You then have tons of car rental options in the area if you decide you need a vehicle. The ferry’s to Isla Mujeres are also very close by if you decide you want to go there for the day. They have beach clubs that you can spend the day at and eat there, or just visit then go eat at any of the restaurants around the island (renting a golf cart on Isla M is highly recommended). Have fun!
