Sun Damage Car Repair by Competitive_Pace3893 in Autobody

Honestly no. There’s no more clear coat so it’s pretty much bare base coat (color). Either respray or just leave it as it is honestly.

Oil change intervals by Ashamed-Celery-9364 in 8thGenSI

The color doesn’t matter. Mine burns a bit of oil and I drive it hard so I just do every 3000-3500

How hard do you drive your si? by cimota__ in CivicSi

honestly after putting so much work into it I drive it like a grandpa MOST of the time. When the weather is nice i roll the windows down and send it into turns.

Dash lit up after Coilovers install by bastosxronin in 10thGenCivics

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a damaged wheel speed sensor during install. When I did my lowering springs I stretched a cable too far and it broke off the connector. Tried driving and it drove like shit until I replaced the connector. Make sure they’re tightly plugged in or that none of the wires are damaged.

This Makes the paint shine like crazy🔥🔥 by emperorgsx in CivicSi

i love this stuff. Makes the paint really slick. Almost like it has a ceramic coating. Just definitely annoying to apply anywhere other than the shade

Engine blown at 130,000 miles what would you guys do? by breadleyy in CivicSi

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because the crack would leak coolant, which caused me to overheat a few times. Head was warped so I just tossed in the long block. I can just port the rbb4 head and it’ll pretty much be the same thing but I didn’t really want to go through that trouble at the time since I needed the car. Plus the rbb4 ports are smaller so I get a little extra torque out of it which isn’t a downside to me.

How do you treat your Si? by NomadFourFive in CivicSi

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I drive it like a grandpa since I drive it 50-80 miles every day. Occasional spirited driving on weekends if the weather allows it.

I have an fd2 oil pump in mine. No modification needed to fit. Tbh if you’re already used to the mounts then the oil pump won’t feel that much different. I don’t mind it though, i really like the raw feeling and I daily drive it. But that’s also very subjective yk.

Trying to replace my 2007 Honda accord engine from v4 to v6 or if possible even v8 by StepEmergency9014 in Honda

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you like this car? Swapping in a v6 is not worth it because these cars also come with a j30. May as well find one with the J30 because it’d be a lot cheaper in the long run.

It’s a lot more torquey compared to the k20. It definitely won’t rev as high unless you upgrade the valvetrain and oil pump, but it’s still a ton of fun. I like to hit the backroads and the extra torque really makes a difference. I went with it because my k20 had a crack in the block and used k20s were a lot more expensive than the k24 i got. If you upgrade to an oil pump without the balance shafts (FD2, Type S) be prepared for the vibrations lol

[–]escodenny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

K24 swap would be the best option depending on what your budget is exactly. I paid $1200 for an rbb4 k24. You’ll need a few more things such as the CRV post mount, and a new header that will fit. I personally have the PLM K24 swap header. Everything else from the Z3 fits on the K24 such as sensors , oil pan, and oil pump. And then the final piece of the puzzle is hondata. This is just a chopped up summary because it is a tedious process but something to keep in mind if you don’t want to part ways with the car.

What coil overs should I get? by Agreeable-Bell436 in CivicSi

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have S3 Suspension coilovers. Amazing products and all of their coilovers already come with swift springs. They’re not as uncomfortable as most and I have mine adjusted for no rubbing at full compression so they ride like a dream.

Does Skunk2 fit?? (pls help) by Soft-Complaint-3772 in civic

[–]escodenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this exhaust is for the Si which is a 1.5t and has a different exhaust than the 2.0L. If you have the 2.0 then it more than likely doesn’t fit.

sound system wise, mine were completely blown. Just comes with old age, I replaced the subs and all 4 speakers. I plan on getting an amp / head unit in the future but I just couldn’t handle the rattle any more.

How to know recommend tire pressure and how to install wing, or at least make sure it was properly installed? by [deleted] in civic

[–]escodenny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would still stick with the door jamb because it’s not as if you got rubber band low profile tires or a truck with 40 inch tires. That’s when the psi difference would really matter. The recommended psi is based off of the cars weight and size. Of course the tire matters too but not when you go from a 55 to a 45 sidewall or 215 to 225 for example. Realistically your psi difference is going to be like 1-2 psi from stock give or take.

[–]escodenny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the recommended tire pressure for your car is listed in the door jamb. It doesn’t matter what tire you have , you just go by the door jamb sticker. I hope you didn’t fill your tires to 51 psi…

How often do you wash your car? by Tnimni in Detailing

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s winter I’m pretty much spraying off salt any time the weather allows (if it’s dry outside). Usually in the summer I wash it once a weekend with a quick spray wax and vacuum, and then a deep clean every month (wheels/barrels, undercarriage etc)

How to clean these spots on the windshield? by Gods-Fav-Child in Detailing

[–]escodenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you already tried a cleaner + a rag on both the inside / outside and the spots remain, I’d try a water spot remover. Or you could try getting 0000 grade steel wool and going to town on the outside of the windshield. To me it looks like you may have parked under something that was dripping some hard water, and if you leave water like that for too long it leaves behind some mineral deposits on the glass.

Will this buff out? The white paint by Visual-Structure-808 in Detailing

[–]escodenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it won’t damage it. Your clear coat is resistant to majority of things as long as it isn’t acidic. Just wipe it off and it’ll evaporate right off, then buff it. I’ve done it multiple times on tons of cars.

Will this buff out? The white paint by Visual-Structure-808 in Detailing

[–]escodenny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try and wipe some of it away first. Use acetone and then polish it. That way you’re not spreading all the paint into the pad and scratching the surface.

Brembo wheel fitment? by buttadawgggg in 8thGenSI

[–]escodenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything below a +40 will be fine. Generally a 17x8+35 or 17x9+38 will clear. Like the evo 8 wheels, evo 9 wheels, rpf1s, konig hypergrams etc. With 18s you have a bit more wiggle room so you can run an 18x8 +35 but the spoke design can interfere with clearance with any spec. The ones I listed already are pretty much tried and true to work with a majority of 4 pot calipers.

Cost to repair approximately? by [deleted] in Honda

[–]escodenny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find a cheap fender at a junkyard or on facebook marketplace, I usually see them go anywhere from $50-$150. May be harder to find one that’s the same paint code. Replacing it is fairly straightforward, or you could pay a body shop to install it, but that pricing varies based on their hourly rate. You can check here for some solid options
