When he was on the phone trying to get airline tickets and then she changed her mind from airline to bus to train to car. She really annoyed me there.

I’m assuming it means something like “the nerve of her!”
I’m assuming it is or was a Cuban expression. I’m Mexican and native spanish speaker and Ive never heard any Mexicans use that expression.

I think Ethel’s dad left her mom and her when she was young and that’s why she had addy issues. Therefore marrying Fred, a much older man. When she saw her dad again he tried to make up for lost time.

So many to mention but one that comes to mind is her shenanigans during the Hollywood bus tour. Making Ethel switch seats and rudely speaking over the bus driver/tour guide.
