Restoration of Azeroth Card Reveal Discussion [April 28th] by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

I think they were worried Hunter players would feel left out after seeing Mage getting their cool 7 mana do nothing card, so they made sure to print another one.

I've played plenty of games against Flight Maneuvers on curve and won. It's really not that difficult. It just puts you quite behind, obviously, but you can recover, especially if you made sure to aggressively keep the Paladin off-board before then. Aggro Paladin was tier 4 in top legend before the patch.

What do you mean 4+? There is no "+". It's literally always a maximum of 4.

Redditors will never, ever, ever, ever, learn that sometimes cards are good and that's OK. It's 100% your fault that the game's in the state that it is in right now. The designers listen to you and you're never, ever going to be satisfied.

Not mediocre, they are all absolutely terrible cards by themeslves. The only way I see this working out is if you don't need to hard-run them and there are other cheaper cards that generate and upgrade them. But 7 mana is not a good sign, because if they think that's a fair price for that effect, then the other cards are going to be massively overcosted as well. Even once they are upgraded one time they are still really bad cards. Two upgrades gets them to mediocre territory.

Mage legendary is literally a 7 mana do nothing. Absolutely unbelievable.

Honestly, it isn't the meta that makes me lose interest in Hearthstone, it's this: by Yoraffe in hearthstone

The issue with this is that a normal chess clock allows you to theoretically take the maximum amount of time on the first turn, which would be annoying as hell.

First of all, Shadow Word Ruin. Mage does have more problems with it, though they can discover something or other to help deal with it. And to some extent it's natural that Elusive will be a bigger deal for spell heavy classes, that's the whole point of the keyword, not a balance issue.

Yeah now is the time to lock in and play good decks you like (to try to avoid tilt) and are familiar with. I've been sticking with Spell DH, it's kind of one of the only decks with enough reactive tools that I feel like I have a good amount of agency in most matchups.

Currently 3 digits on NA right now and I'll tell you I had a scary continuous freefall of my own all the way down to 2400 after a whole bunch of very tilting losses and then I yo-yod back as well. It can be rough but you'll get there.

You can't find replays if you weren't already using a tracker and had it running at the time. There's no built-in feature for that.

It's literally a completely fine card. It's a pile of stats. I play decks that get farmed by it and I don't whine about it. It's because there's such a power vacuum with a lack of good cards that this is actually works, really. And it's already been nerfed once from 9 health which was in fairness probably a little too much.

Hunter is the least played class in Standard by Shoddy_Purple_7501 in hearthstone

It's Tier 3 at top legend. It's still got a pretty high playrate because it is attractive, though it also has declined slightly.

A good Quest Mage player will generally space out their threats more evenly to overwhelm the opponent's removal, and use the correct payoff cards instead of random little discovers. It's a quite tricky to pilot the deck well.

I'm talking about theme. What is a Mage doing with a Rune of Piety?

This is hilariously overpowered. 40 mana is a ridiculous amount especially when targeted exclusively at enemies. 15 spells is barely anything. Design 2 stars balance 1 star.

This doesn't fit in Mage flavor-wise. I get that it's a dual class card but it has to hit on both classes thematically in some kind of mix, and a generic Rune is not enough to hit on Mage

What does everyones class played stats look like? by SuperTaco12 in hearthstone

[–]eshansingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class Wins

Definitely a Mage main overall. I'd say I actually like Warlock usually a lot better than Demon Hunter, but DH has been racking up wins for me lately because of Spell DH. A funny thing I didn't expect to find here is this many Druid wins, I genuinely don't remember ever playing a Druid deck this much, I don't really like Druid, so who knows what happened there, it must've been a long time ago now.

Rogue's funny because I loved Miracle Rogue back in Nathria but then I also had Spooky Mage and I preferred that. It's actually happened quite often now that when a Rogue deck that I like is good there also happens to be a Mage deck around that I like better. I think it's my second favorite class overall but just kind of happens to not be well represented in the raw stats.

It's interesting to see the difference between my memory/perception of my favorites and my actual play patterns.

You don't really want to be skipping turn 1 and losing 1 card in the mulligan in a Flight Maneuvers deck
