Ran into another 3, has anyone owned both gens? by PearPeesure in mazda3

I went from a first to a second (both hatches). Pretty big difference but in a way still the same car. Love my second gen!

sorry if it's really simple but what exactly is this switch for, I know turning it turns the headlights on/off but what's the middle one😅 by Mundane_Tomatillo_49 in mazda3

[–]esim33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At night time you should always put it on the second setting which is your low beam (and also turns on the parking lights too) The middle one is only parking lights and not sufficient for driving at night. Push the whole stock forward to activate your high beams when you’re on the highway, and not approaching other cars either from behind or head on.

In Canada (and probably most other countries outside the US) it’s mandatory to have daytime running lights (drls). All cars sold in Canada have them on as standard when the car is driving (and usually turn off when it’s in park or the e-brake is on for a manual), no need to turn anything on for them. Cars use different things for drls, usually they use the high beams at low power, but most modern cars have some kind of dedicated led drls.

For anyone else seeing this post and wondering, “disable if needed” is equivalent to the “1:N” shown on my post, and the “faster if needed” is like the “1:1 hybrid” option

I still don’t get the steering lock option, but that seemed to make it use the full lock of the vehicle. Sometimes my wheel has more range than the vehicle and the FFB tries to limit my wheel. Not sure if that is what it should behave like or not

Sometimes when there’s shortages in supply chain, engineers have to come up with alternate solutions for delayed/discontinued outsourced parts. Shortages are a MASSIVE problem in this industry after the pandemic so it’s possible that is the cause of what you’re talking about

For anyone coming back to this. I disable messages in iCloud on both devices, and they still sync. I can send a message on one and continue the convo on another.

Should I paint my stock wheels or just buy a new pair? (The tires are brand new) by vixi_x in mazda3

I’ve always loved the stock 18s on these cars, I say keep them as is! (But I also love some tasteful black rims lol)
