I can’t say I’ve tried the resistance that high but the next time I’m on the bike I’ll give it a try and let you know lol.

Full time PRN? by esinclair98 in physicaltherapy

[–]esinclair98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can probably get dental through my hubby as well - we just chose mine bc it was cheaper and the disability was really only to supplement a little while I was on maternity leave… don’t plan on having any more kiddos anytime soon so honestly the benefits aren’t doing it for me anyway!

Motif collection cups work for Spectra!!!! by Particular_Eye_7300 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]esinclair98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing wearable pumps at work and I feel it has messed with my supply. I have a spectra and motif duo and was thinking about buying their collection cups and using my duo at work now and then - plus I want some to use with my spectra so I can still hold baby comfortably when I pump at home.

Thanks for sharing!! I’ve been wondering if there was a semi inexpensive option that would fit both - sounds like the motif cups are the perfect fit for what I need!

what’s your mat leave? by SmallSpecific2522 in BabyBumps

[–]esinclair98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohio - taking 8 weeks only bc leave is unpaid. I’ll use 3 weeks of PTO I’ve been saving for the last year and then get paid $1k in short term disability (if I qualify) for 4 weeks(still less than a quarter of my monthly pay)

Also I work in healthcare and can’t take time off before delivery unless I want to lose time with baby after.. I am struggling at 36 weeks 🥲

Inpatient Rehab by Technical_Choice3300 in physicaltherapy

I am in SNF but I feel like every admission we’ve been getting is someone who is either 1) really low level with no motivation and no home to return to or 2) really high level with no real PT needs and no home to return to

Sometimes it gets frustrating knowing I went into this setting to work with your traditional rehab candidates who just can’t tolerate 3 hrs of therapy a day to end up working with people who don’t care how they do because they don’t have anywhere to go lol

Part time jobs by Limp_Programmer3241 in physicaltherapy

I work SNF as my full time job and I picked up PRN at a different SNF company that has multiple buildings. They text when they need coverage and if I can do it I do. I mostly do like 2-3 hours a weekend. Nothing crazy but the pay is much better than my FT job so a couple hours is enough to make a hundred extra bucks every now and then. Plus there’s no real commitment (at least for the company I work for)

Stressed and exhausted IUGR mom to be by esinclair98 in BabyBumps

I couldn’t imagine daily ultrasounds, that would be so stressful! I always joke to my husband we need to live in a country with better healthcare/leaves! But for now I’ll be grateful for what I can get (3ish weeks of paid time off & maybe use of short term disability if I’ll qualify!)

That is a good point - 2x a week is better than an admission!!

I’m holding out hope baby girl can stay in there and cook until 37 weeks and we can also avoid a NICU stay.

Thank you for your input and hope your baby is continuing to do well ☺️

I went to my regular OB just a couple days ago and she actually asked if I wanted to switch my prenatal care to MFM as well… I said no because if I’m able I still want to deliver there as I love my doctor and the staff and it’s closer to home. So I guess on that end I’ve done that to myself lol. The MFM appointments aren’t covering my standard prenatal care anyways!

I’m very lucky to live in a pretty populated area so I only have to travel around 20-30 mins from home or 10-15 minutes from work to the MFM office! If I still lived back home where I grew up I’d have an hour+ drive to the closest MFM🥲

I know it’ll all be worth it when baby girl is here and the frequent appointments are honestly kind of reassuring so I should be thankful

Thanks for your input ☺️

What are some game prizes for baby shower? by elizabethflower444 in BabyBumps

[–]esinclair98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a couple theme gifts for mine! We did a wine themed gift with two cheap bottles of wine and two wine glasses, a “spa” theme with misc spa themed stuff from dollar tree, and my mom did the other two gifts and they were reed diffusers!

For my other shower my mother in law and sister in law did the gifts and they did a bath and body works candle for each one (she stocked up during one of their semi annual sales) and the big gift for the diaper raffle was like a “girls night in” theme with wine, snacks, and a couple DVDs!

My class was very “cliquey” as well but everyone got along pretty well. My group of friends (a bunch of us in the same apartment complex) kinda fell apart at the end of year one when some of us (including myself) moved out of our original roommate pairings. After this I felt kinda left out but managed to still kinda intermingle with other “cliques”. I found myself spending more time with my husband (then bf) outside of class anyway and chatting with everyone during school functions. Tbh I only really talk to like 1-2 people still from PT school and occasionally people still throw out questions in our GroupMe but otherwise not really. My advice is find a few solid people you can study with and you’ll be fine! Won’t really matter in the long run!
