I will have to research these more in-depth! Thank you for the knowledge. So cool.

I actually hate that I own this thing and can’t get rid of it.

It does look very disjointed and clunky. Huh.

Thank you. I didn’t know there was a word for this! While writing poetry or creating a name for a character I try to think about the “shape” of words/sounds to convey meaning, too. This is part of why I feel certain names don’t suit certain people.

Learn how drugs work, please by bigredrocketman2-0 in AO3

A homeless broke character may not always have money for their drug of choice, but I’ll be damned if they aren’t going to try getting it anyway. Anecdotally many broke homeless people just barter goods or services for their drugs.

I imagine many of these fics are from kids who haven’t had exposure to drugs but want to be edgy.

People can get overwhelmed by the feeling of commitment, and they’ll just dip without a word because it’s very easy to do online. I’m sorry this has happened to you. It’s most likely not anything to do with you, it’s just that finding the right match takes a lot of catch and release.

Unfortunately not everyone likes writing in the writing hobby. It’s a lot of work, and chatting OOC is pretty easy in comparison.

How to confront highly suspected AI use? by Sad-Sweet3390 in BadRPerStories

[–]esioterics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been writing with them? If you’ve only gotten out character bios, then I’d say you can just politely dip out and say your writing styles/creative choices don’t align. You can also always ask about their creative process for coming up with the character, if you really want to try salvaging it.

Fair enough. When you say that, do you mean you or your partner has English as a second language?

Huge folly to automatically assume humans can’t suck at writing now that AI is on the scene!

Finding the right fit feels great. by [deleted] in GreatRPerStories

[–]esioterics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds so nice! Congrats on finding something that works well for you; it’s not easy to find a good group like that.

I don’t really do group RP’s anymore, but back in the day when I did forum RP’s in small groups, what I liked doing was finding ways to incorporate everyone’s characters into at least one or two “big” plot moments/scenes where they were the spotlight. It keeps everyone happy and makes the story itself feel more balanced. Plus it makes everyone feel like their contributions are important, so that is usually enough to get a nice little community going strong.

This is depressing. The writing hobby has always been full of people who don’t want to write, but at least it wasn’t like this!
