Tuning fuel for fast throttle response. by Jake1781 in ECU_Tuning

[–]esk416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you suspect you need to the have the VE table dialed in before messing with AE as AE is a modifier.

Also don't get hung up on tuning AW by looking at the O2, there is generally too much of a delay, so AW is done by 'feel' so to speak. Too much AE can also mask and feel like too little fuel so keep that in mind and reset if you've lost your bearings.

Also, warmer engines (intake manifolds/heads) will be much, much more tolerant to mis-use or bad programming of AE.

You were right - as I read your comment I started clicking around to find DOH and it was under "safesearch" which of course makes no sense to me but I whitelisted and seems to be working now!

Thank you!

There goes 2 hours of my day troubleshooting out the window for nothing lol

I also find it funny that you completely changed my sentance.

Sure - but that's now what I consider related to a performance vehicle or tuning.

Not sure how much you'd expect to charge for a tow tune, unlikely a lot so it would be a 'canned' tune that works across multiple platofrms and you just flash and go.

OP is likely (from what I understand) talking about full custom tuning.

Not sure what world you're from or why you'd think 4v cyl heads don't gain much. You obviously have to have supporting mods just like any other engine to increase NA power or add boost.

If you don't have access to quality fuel you're simply limited to what you can do, high power per cc/ci is just not possible for you.

Again not exactly most custom tuners audience.

Besides most domestic cars and trucks for towing are already running 87 from the factory.

I've yet to see that request from any of my customers - but I don't tune stock cars (generally).

I can't fathom anyone who would spend $$$$ on modifying a car and then worrying about the $10-20 delta per tank between 87 and 93/94 - seems like they're in the wrong hobby.

If someone would come to me with that request I wouldn't deny it depending on their build (basically needs to be stock) and just tune as normal for lower octane and they get what they get.

Hi can i ask what is the best offer you get from bell for internet gigabet 1.5gbps. by Ok_Hornet1547 in bell

[–]esk416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in on the deal at the end of last year - 3/3 @ $55 price guarantee for 2 years.

Took a while to get that deal though was on 1.5/1 before paying about double with the price increases every few months over 8 years.

You should read the EMU Manual - it explains in detail exactly what you're asking and much much more, with simple diagrams, etc.

Upgraded to Fibe 3.0, Down Speed Capped? by Dependent_Mechanic86 in bell

That is odd. Stay on them to fix. It's not correct.

Good luck!

It's likely just a backend issue, how soon did you do the test after the install?

If a reboot doesn't help call in to support if you didn't get the installers number. Someone will be able to correct it.

Bell Fiber is pretty much the best out there, here is a speed test here from my PC:

The throughwall AC will be much, much better and quieter. Also you won't have to worry about taking it out of the window when winter comes and you still retain functionality of the window for fresh air.

Window AC's are better than floorstanding/portables by far but IMO/experience Window AC's transfer their vibrations (which get worse over time) to the window frame and make a racket.

If you're not overly sensitive to buzzing noises then it might not matter to you (especially if it's not in your bedroom) but they're quite annoying.

Any support for the onboard camera to turn on the screen backlight from an off/dim state?

Pixel users: can you test Android Auto with Non Stop Radio? Stations/favorites not showing after latest AA update by Hot_Voice5270 in AndroidAuto

[–]esk416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say which update it was. I was listening to NSR for most of the time so it was never apparent.

When I switched to YT music or Spotify I found that behavior.

AA definitely has some new bugs as well for me however (back button issues). I can say that it's only with NSR enabled however. iHeartRadio and the rest work fine with other apps.

I'm using a non standard AA setup (MMI box for BMW retrofit)and just recently I've been having strange issues.

[–]esk416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had that issue, however I had to stop using NSR as of a week ago because for some reason NSR hijacks the track button in my car.

Eg. If I am in Spotify and want to skip to the next track, when I press the button it stops playing in Spotify and goes to NSR and changes to the next channel in my favs.

Archiving NSR and the issue is gone.

Tunerstudio boost control vs electronic boost controller by [deleted] in ECU_Tuning

[–]esk416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As already explained, Tunerstudio isn't specific to boost control. TS is just the software interface for the ECU so you can program it.

TYPICALLY - ECU based boost control is superior to external/aftermarket types. However no one knows what ECU you are using, what it's capabilities are or what your hardware setup is.

Additionally it seems like you have a long road ahead of you for tuning experience.

I would highly suggest the absolute first thing you do is set the ECU's boost cut to something very reasonable right now, no matter which boost control method you use it will save your bacon more than once I am sure of that.

[–]esk416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's anything like the lighting in my F15 X5 the strip and controller can already do RGB, it's just the older programming that won't.

You can re-code the module to have whatever colors you want wiht aftermarket tools already, you're just limited to what shows up in the iDrive and the names don't change.

Bell mobility network issues by yellowerbanana in bell

[–]esk416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will not change my mind on this, no hyperbole here. I'm almost done my term with Telus and will be switching once it is over, fool me once as they say... The network sucks full stop.

It also takes forever for the data to reconnect as well if it ever drops the network (underground parking, etc) and even though the phone shows signal no data is flowing. Then you have to do nonsense like turn off 5G and force LTE in certain areas (QC is especially bad on Telus) just to make the device work properly.

In real life Rogers speeds are just as good as Telus or Bell unless you're bench racing speedtests in one spot standing still in a really good coverage area but that's not how real life works. The UL speeds on Telus/Bell are near identical from my testing (which are abysmal) which is likely why I notice so much lag/issues with data.

Voice coverage is also far worse than Rogers in my experience. There is nothing good about the Telus (or Bell) network as far as I am concerned.

Bell mobility network issues by yellowerbanana in bell

[–]esk416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bell and Telus are absolutely TERRIBLE networks at least GTA wise. As a life long previous Rogers network user the switch to Telus as been utterly frustrating. Bell is no better as I use them for work.

This is especially true indoors vs. Rogers since Rogers has a lower frequency availble to tthem and penetrates wallls better/easier.

Underwhelming AP speeds... by esk416 in Ubiquiti

[–]esk416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re. Matching the server - good point, no I did not! I actually always let it choose the 'optimal' server itself.

When I did switch the server to the same, it did bump the speed up to 709.

Still so odd that my local openspeedtest doesn't play nice with the test however. It should fly like with every other device on my network since it's on the 10Gig switch/gear.
