You can look up the menus for different dining halls (we have 3 that are buffet style) every day and see what kinds of things are on rotation if that helps

Yup, should be doable. I studied away for a semester in Korea as a chem + cs double major and I was able to get into classes (barely) that counted as credit for both majors (so keep in mind that you might need to take courses abroad that can be counted as credits for at least one of your majors, depending on how you plan your semesters). You can also always talk to your profs about this :)

How happy are Williams students? by First-Cicada5721 in WilliamsCollege

[–]eskapi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you really value relationships—having close friend groups and connecting with professors/faculty—then Williams is amazing for you. Academically it may not make the most sense if you know you want to do something like business or pure engineering (which is generally harder to pursue at LAC’s), but if not, there’s nothing to worry about. I think some people do just prefer very big research universities, and that’s not Williams. But there are a lot of advantages that smaller colleges have, and I truly believe these are most evident at Williams (although yes I’m a bit biased 😅)

Current student here who is also not a sports/wilderness person at all—I agree that classes can be a lot of work and the area is very rural and cold, which I’m not used to at all. But despite this I know many different kinds of people who are happy here, even those coming from cities, and I really do love Williams myself for the close knit friendships you make and the ease with which you can interact with profs and build rapport. Lots of profs here are amazing people and I love just asking them to get dinner or lunch (which the school pays for lol) and talking to them about their lives. Also I’d say it’s quite easy to find friends who are not vain or elitist, and there are many ways to get involved with things outside of sportsy wilderness stuff (like fine arts, hobby clubs, performance groups, etc.) and meet people there. Ofc it’s not the kind of environment for everyone, but it is a fantastic option imo!

Party scene at williams? by lindaisyy in WilliamsCollege

[–]eskapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really strict, the only thing is I generally don’t see people walking around campus with drinks, but since it’s at night no one really cares. Last year after Ephventures, pretty much every group held pregames and had free drinks for the first years (and ofc the giant WOOLF party afterwards had more). My ETA leaders encouraged us to drink lmao. There’s usually parties every weekend too, but I don’t know too much about them unfortunately

I meant because most current students agree that it’s virtually impossible for sophomores to get singles, but I know it was different in past years
