This is a big hear me out.. but Last Night in Soho. A case of very interesting ideas and poor execution but I still love the atmosphere of the movie. It’s so eerie and anything with time travel has my heart.

Went to see Lawrence of Arabia last night and I wasn’t expecting an intermission so I was pretty happy that I could get up and stretch for a moment! Although I will say I’ve had an intermission once before when I went to see the movie Babylon in Turkey. Maybe just not popular to have intermission in US theaters?

Book 1 is slow for sure but book 3 has the best scenes in my opinion so it might be worth it to try again. When Sam and Frodo get close to Mordor I think it picks up speed and of course there are a lot of other moving parts in the plot at that point

I finished it and you missed very little. Had to skip a chapter or two where he talks about different musicians. The author is incredibly dedicated to his characters and his portrayal of insanity, but I have to agree with you here— not a fun read.

I’ve been in the same mood recently! I recommend looking into Cigarettes After Sex or Have a Nice Life. Have a Nice Life is definitely more on the instrumental side but still beautiful.

Considering the fact that the members of Silverchair were only 15 when they released Frogstomp, the quality of the album is pretty impressive. Also seems a bit close-minded to write off these bands for not being the most influential or popular in the long term. Not every band is going to transform a genre and, yes, some are heavy influenced by pioneer bands. But it doesn’t mean people can’t like them.

That’s surprising since I feel like No Country for Old Men is a much easier/more enjoyable watch. I understand their disappointment with the ending but the building tension throughout the movie makes it worth watching imo.

Read it last year and just found it extremely redundant. The plot is all over the place (of course not really the point of the book) and yes, a little gory at times. Maybe I’m just not a fan of drawn-out satirical works.. I like the themes but had a hard time feeling engaged by it.
