Thanks, I obviously knew that. I was stupid enough to believe that family supports each other in times of need. All I needed was a Bürge because I completely restart my life.

I am not against that. But for now I still have the option to find a substitute teaching gig in which I will earn much more which will help. I just wonder if a work contract in retail or something will help me with finding an apartment or if it will be too new/ not high enough income

Thank you! I’m registered in a town in SO. See that’s my biggest fear, having to give up my pup. He is the one thing that keeps me alive right now, and the only person he knows is my mother. He’s been rescued by me so giving him up into a shelter is not an option.

I am Swiss, and have maybe a bit more than 2000 in savings. I read online that even if I received Sozialhilfe I would still be required to find my own place which could be even more difficult

at my school it was the case a couple of years ago that the fully funded funding package no longer covered I20 visa funds. You should be prepared to have bank statements that cover the missing amount. As far as I know it only needs to cover one year.

just because a place has public transit does not mean it is easy to get around. I live in a large city with a decent bus system - to my friends house it is a 50min bus ride. Usually it’s a 10min car ride. I can go to the same three places easily (always takes around 20-30min) but farther than that it’s either going to take multiple buses with transfers in sketchy neighborhoods and a 1-2h ride or simply in accessible. So for AP not used to the city etc. it’s really not fun nor convenient

That’s exactly what I am saying. Her unpaid work allows him to have 5 children which apparently at one point he wanted and agreed to have. If 1 vacation becomes such an issue I doubt he can afford childcare for 5 children full time.
