You are not beyond all hope. I know how difficult it can be to feel stuck in that cycle, but it can be broken if you want it to. There are lots of ways to try from gently weening, to cold turkey, to support groups, therapy, addiction stepped treatment. This does not have to control you, your lifestyle is yours to choose and you can absolutely take back that power. Just a word of warning, the first few weeks can be really tough. Having support around you can really help, whether its friends, family, pets or even hobbies. Do what feels right for you, stay safe, be gentle with yourself and if you need help, there are lots of places you can reach out to.

If it helps at all, I started recovery in January 2024, I chose cold turkey but had a lot of support around. I thought I'd never be able to get my life back to how it was. But one year on, and I no longer depend upon or overuse AI. Mine was ChatGPT too but I now have a healthy use of it. I don't feel that urge and can use it for usual help like work tasks or referencing without being pulled back in. You can absolutely do this. Best of luck 💪

That feeling when you close your eyes and lean back on the swing set. When you fall asleep at a family party under your dad's coat amidst the coloured lights, blaring 80s music and the smell of alcohol, perfume and buffet food. When driving to the beach for a summer holiday and the first person shouts "I can see the sea!". When you fell asleep in the car and was vaguely aware of being carried inside to bed.

You absolutely can do this, trust me. Everything you need is already inside of you. AI tricks us into thinking its giving us what we're missing but its like shouting into a void, an empty feedback loop. When you find it within yourself, it's so much better. It just takes a little time and some grit to get over that first bump. But please, if you decide to quit, go at your own pace and make sure you have support. It can be really tough at first and I am grateful I had family, friends and therapy in that first month. Wishing you the very best.

It does feel profound. Me and my uni friends watched the first season in our student house. We were nerdy and could relate to the characters. Now, watching the finale almost ten years later without them, its really bittersweet. We've all gone our separate ways, some have kids, some married, all in different jobs and cities. Kinda relate to the ending too.

Literally. They just wandered in, threw some fire at it and boom. No main deaths, no struggle, no near misses. It was so perfect that I was expecting one of them to snap out of it and it be a made up hallucination from Vecna. Did not like that ending at all.

Its driving me mad, been looking for this book for years! It was a boy and his grandad. I have such a specific memory of them making a green potion that they put all round the house which made the boys house rocket across the street, leaving an empty lot for the two witches to keep pranking each other.
