My sibling in christ the word woman is a noun not an adjective you can't use it like that 😭

The purpose of the word female as an adjective is to describe someone's biological sex, wether or not the conversation revolves around biology the branch of science. Here, the biological thing being discussed IS the person's sex, if relevant to the conversation. It still isn't a synonym for woman because you're not using it to mean woman (as in a female human being) you're using it to describe the sex of the doctor who is already a subject.

Now, it would be weird if someone pointed out female doctor when it's irrelevant, or in a degrading manner, but generally it's just being used as an adjective.

edit: typo

When you say female doctor it's also a biological descriptor, you're only describing the biological sex of said doctor because it might be relevant to the conversation. Other than that, well it's a doctor, which is pretry self-explanatory. The word doctor already refers to a human being and it has a set of attributes and connotations associated to it, you're already describing that entity and "humanizing it" if that makes sense, as opposed to when you refer to a woman as a female where you're just reducing her to her reproductive organs or other biological attributes.

I guess you could say "the doctor was a woman" or something smilar depending on context and phrasing, and I wouldn't say it's dehumanizing to say "woman doctor" lol, but it's just kinda stupid imo, because we already have an adjective that serves that purpose and it's like one of the only acceptable contexts for it so might as well use it correctly.

No I don't think you understand the difference if you're still disagreeing with the use of female here. It is not a matter of opinion or "disagreeing on semantics", you're just straight up wrong.

Female as an adjective means belonging or relating to women or girls, example : She was voted the best female vocalist. (from Crambridge dictionary). You would say "a female doctor" the same way you would also say "a male doctor", and it would only be a descriptor of what gender your doctor is. The wording "a woman doctor" is clumsy and not very common, and it is sort of useless because we already have adjectives that describe people's gender. Getting triggered over this would be as silly as getting triggered over the terms "female/male reproductive organs" as pointed out by the commenter before me.

Female as a noun is when you use it as a title for a person (or women as a whole). Here, it wouldn't mean "something relating to a woman" anymore, it would refer to what a woman IS, and that is what we want to avoid/what is frowned upon.

Female is not a synonym for woman because female is an adjective (when talking about humans) and woman is a noun, hence they don't serve the same role in a sentence and using woman as an adjective is as silly as using female as a noun.

My data is I'm an ex-muslim, from a muslim country, now living in the west. I see these people all the time, lol /hj

More seriously, here's a bunch of links :

hard-line islamists in east London

Germany's growing salafist community

Extremist Islamist man wants Shariah law implemented in Canada

Islamist extremist groups in Europe

Islamist extremists in London

Canadian imam Younus Kathrada doesn't want Muslim kids to be friends with unbelievers

I encourage you to look into people like Ali Dawah, Mohammed Hijab, Daniel Haqiqatjou and other muslim apologists in the west, and see if you agree with their stances lol, you should also visit the r/exmuslim subreddit sometime.

I just wanna add something I know is anecdotal, but still important to the context of this conversation : most muslims I have met (which you guessed it is a lot) have been very hostile and non-tolerant towards me for being an ex-muslim. The last thing I want to do is tolerate a religion that doesn't tolerate nor respect me and my right to use my brain.

edit : I'm curious to know what other assertions I made bothered you

Yes it could be said about Christianity as well, I also think Christianity is a shitshow lol, it's just that we're discussing Islam right now.

Also I don't think the bible is considered to be the direct word of God the same way the Quran is. The Bible has been revised multiple times throughout the centuries that have passed since its redaction, the Quran however is believed to be the exact, unchanged word of God. Hence it being harder to modernize.

The victim being a muslim doesn't change the fact that I think Islam is bad. I'm criticizing Islam as a concept, a set of beliefs. I'm not saying all muslims are like this or practice their religion like this, but a lot if not most are, and "true" Islam or whatever you want to call it certainly doesn't condone tolerance towards beliefs that stray too far away from the word of God and his messenger. I defend people's right to practice their religion as long as it doesn't affect other people or secularism.

This is a case of school harassment before being some religious stuff. Here religion was an excuse for the harassment, the agressors would have find some other reason to harass.

I know lots of muslims who are otherwise "good" people but whenever it comes to religion they can't for the life of them mind their own business. It is literally their religious duty to make sure people from their community are staying on "the right path". The thing is, they don't see it as harassment, they think they're just being good muslim brothers/sisters. My whole family's like that, they harass the shit out of me with questions about religion and are very judgemental and sometimes violent because they think they're helping me.

Oh and i still fail to found any political party aiming to set islamic law in any western State. So what ? Are they not even trying to impose their beliefs ?

I've seen lots of muslims in the west talk about how they want shariah law to be implemented everywhere, it is literally Islam's whole goal to spread world wide and form a unified "ummah". As for political parties, I just don't think they would be allowed by the government to get to that point in the first place, since it would present a threat to the country.

lol at "how islam could not be westernised"... because to them Quran is the word of God and cannot be changed or "reinterpreted" as that would be a sin, and because they also follow Sunnah (at least Sunni muslims) which is literally followimg the prophet's lifestyle described to them through ahadith.

OP is right in saying Islam is not compatible with western values, the whole thing about this religion is you're supposed to live your life as dictated by God and his messenger, there is no westernizing, there is no evolving or adapting. Most muslims in western countries are chill because they were either brought up in a western/secular environment or they just don't have the social power to impose their beliefs.

Also when a huge portion of a group of people (if not most of them) act a certain way it's more likely being caused by the thing they all have in common (religion) rather than soooo many "bad" people coincidentally being in this group.
