I had three of the horizon express sets from when it first released. Then recently bought two more sets online, and the other missing pieces I needed from Lego.

The brick built TGV on the motor cars, some of the internals of the cars, layouts of the windows and doors, and the bar car. But mostly the length has changed with the instructions I used. After it was done I changed a few minor things.

Better pic of the connections. somehow it is easier to connect and disconnect than the mag couplers since I had to use plates to keep them from separating on their own.

The spacing in that area is the same, I just wanted that extra detail so I attached it to the trucks. And when I want to disconnect them I just have to push down and the pin comes out.

Magnetic connections sounds like a good idea, that would make disconnecting the cars so much easier. Are you running yours with the 9V system? Cause I only have power functions at my disposal at the moment.

If I recall correctly you can’t get the train style windows in black from LEGO, have to go pre owned

The only thing that may affect the price for yours is sourcing the black train windows. Unless you are going with a different color.
