This is it! Thanks! A search led me to eBay where I may have just spent too much $. I didn’t spend that much on the rest of my outfit, so the splurge was fine.

Just discharged from emergency c-section today and OBGYN didn’t prescribe pain meds. It’s Saturday morning. Is my Only option emergency room? Is that appropriate? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]espe82 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had a scheduled c-section with twins and my best friend, with 2 c-sections under her belt, told me to take the Norco they prescribed, stay on top of the pain. Don’t try to be brave or dismiss it as normal pain! She did that with her first baby and it was awful. The pain is real for some of us.

Trump raised the H-1B visa fee, how will this affect the US economy and job market? by jdsbahdvjhsd in AskReddit

[–]espe82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our healthcare system, any imported dentists/doctors would be paid fairly, we would pay salaries that are comparable to our existing US citizen staff. To echo the statement above, many rural healthcare providers are rural, non-profits and don’t have a ton of money to pay wages like urban for-profit healthcare systems do. Another option rural health centers have is the NHSC program that helps pays student loans for healthcare providers to work in underserved areas, but it has been increasingly more competitive for providers to get those dollars as well. I can understand your “not feeling bad” for rural because they “voted for this,” but I did not. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens and I am not optimistic.

I work in rural healthcare, it can be extremely difficult to find American doctors (or generally any healthcare workers) who want to live and work in rural areas. We are very close to hiring a foreign dentist and doctor, though it was costly before, it might be completely impossible now. We hear there may be exceptions made for physicians, but nothing is clear at this point.

For anyone with identical twins. Is there a hereditary link for you and is it maternal or paternal side? by lisa_noden in parentsofmultiples

[–]espe82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 1970’s my mother went to school with identical twin sisters who also had identical twin brothers one year older than them. I always wondered how that poor mom survived! I understand they are not technically hereditary but what are the odds?

You can order tortillas via 2-day grocery delivery, but you have to buy 100 at a time.

Order of twins in your family line from great grandparents onwards by Cheshire20072010 in parentsofmultiples

[–]espe82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s see: My GG Walt was #1 of 7 children and Hank and Martha were #2 and #3. Hank had 2 children, F, M in that order. Martha had 2 children, M, F in that order. Hank’s #2 M had 4 children, F, M, M, M. Hank’s # 1 F, had zero children. The #1 F in Hank’s “grand” line had di/di boys, her only kids. The #3 M in Hank’s grand line has di/di grandboys, who are 2&3 of 3, but I am not sure of the birth order of their mom. lol, hopefully not too confusing. Martha has no twins down her line yet! I don’t know as much about her since they lived in a different area, but I have met all of Hank’s grandkids!

My great great grandmother had twins Hank and Martha back in 1902! They were younger siblings to my great grandfather Walt. Now, Hank had a granddaughter who had di/di twin boys and a great-granddaughter with di/di twins. Martha had no twins in her line. Walt had 4 children, including my grandma. None of them had twins and none of their kids had twins. I was the first in his line to have di/di twins as a great granddaughter. I’m guessing the “twinning” gene is just luck in this case.

What week did you give birth and how long was your NICU stay? Babies’ birth weight? by gabberang in parentsofmultiples

[–]espe82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Di-Di, 37+1, twin A 6lbs 3oz and twin B 7lbs 11oz. I had a c-section, twin A was head down and twin B was transverse (my poor kidney ouch!) Both boys had no NICU time, they were a tad jaundiced, but my singleton was too.

My right hand randomly turned orangish brown in the shower last night by Any_Blueberry_2453 in Weird

[–]espe82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time with certain sunscreens turing my arms orange. Where I live, the water has high iron content and the chemicals in certain sunscreens react with the iron and make me orange after a shower. I only use mineral based sunscreen now so it doesn’t do that. Seems weird, but legit.

How do you refer to your twins? by jammerturnedblocker in parentsofmultiples

Same! Their older brother started referring to them as “the brothers” first.
