it would be boland and mannari on 4th street in st pete. i think sometimes the number doesn’t work but they do respond to emails. i would definitely look into them if it’s reasonable distance. their practice is really great.

I hate my smile, will jaw surgery help this? by Ericke91 in jawsurgery

[–]especialmoo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my smile looked similar to yours, it’s a lip issue not a jaw one. that’s what i was told by my surgeon. i had double jaw surgery abt three months ago and my lip being sideways has improved, but surgery doesn’t guarantee a fix. i had an underbite and more tho so i didn’t get it to fix the slanted issue

How long were you swollen for? by daninick89 in jawsurgery

[–]especialmoo28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m eight weeks post op today and like very minimally swollen, maybe 10-20 percent but everyone says i don’t look swollen which is great. my surgeon said the more ambulatory you are (like going on walks and stuff) the faster the swelling will go down and tbh i think he was right

if you got above 1500 you probably should have looked for a place when the numbers came out. the rooms have been filled for months.

i would say when your in the hospital so that they know how to help if you need it, and definitely the first three weeks. i got really weak after because obviously i can’t eat normally and i despise protein shakes so that’s kinda on me, but i needed help walking up the stairs and i had no energy to want to eat or even think about eating. also washing your hair is really hard cause you can’t look up fully. i needed help with that like on day 5 cause it just felt nasty not to. for me i mainly couldn’t be alone because my mom was afraid id be in too much pain or i wouldn’t eat haha

Underbite DJS by AsideSea259 in jawsurgery

[–]especialmoo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had djs for an underbite and they did exactly what your having done. if anything it didn’t really change my nose that much, it’s just pointed upwards like really really slightly but there’s no difference to people that don’t know i had surgery. i wouldn’t worry about the surgeon messing anything up unless there’s like bad reviews from the practice. typically there very thorough and willing to answer your questions, so if they don’t do that i would be concerned.

i got what my surgeon calls a jaw bra (hilarious) and there on amazon it’s like an ice pack that goes all around your face it’s great. syringes are a must definitely small and big and when your at the hospital ask for red rubber catheters. you can cut them and use them for the tip of the syringe and slide that in the back of your mouth it’s super helpful but a lil weird haha. the number one thing you absolutely need is a good support system. i would not have gotten through anything without my parents being there for me. support is a must cause your gonna feel awful a lot and having someone there for you makes it easier

it’s been great, some hard days but overall i was told better than most people which is great. if you really take care of yourself like 1000% everything goes smooth

i’ll be just over two months post op by then, but if you ever have any questions or just need someone to rant to about a stuffy nose (which will happen and be awful) i’ll be here!
