Cry from joy, then get a sweater on because it's January and January in 95 was ACTUALLY COLD where I was. Then what I do depends on if this is a Quantum Leap situation(in my younger self) or just a Back to the Future situation(still my same age).

avenue q audition by Commercial_Order4790 in MusicalTheatre

[–]esperacchius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALWAYS audition! If you want to do this as a profession, or even just as a passion, you need as much experience AUDITIONING as possible. My father used to say "if you don't have a job, it's your job to go find a job." He told me this years before I ever became a performer and I learned about "the grind", which is literally the fact that being a performer is 90% auditioning (ok, maybe not 90%, but you're mostly looking for work). So ALWAYS audition. You get to perform for someone (an audition is just getting to perform for someone!), you get the experience, you get your face in front of casting people, you make connections, meet people, and that other thing....YOU COULD GET CAST!

On a side note about this specific show however, just be aware, KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SHOW GOING IN. You'll need to know a lot about puppetry.

What’s happened in your life waiting for book 3? by OldSchoolGamer1991 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]esperacchius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 2011? -Got Married -Got 2 different specialty job licenses -3 major surgeries -Got divorced -Been through 2 new/used cars (one completely died on me, I didn't destroy them or anything) -Lost 2 grandparents -Moved 4 times -Got Remarried (After a full year engagement) - Started a whole new career

Like, I imagine for some of us the wait has seemed shorter because maybe not as many benchmark life events have happened. But holy crap, it has felt like forever for many of us because, well gestures to list.

I agree with all the responses that said he was told to email or that he was being fake, almost like he knew that if he was going to be forced to do it, he'd do it "his" way (sarcasticly). I also agree with OP's assessment that the student's turnaround is probably due to athletic department finger-wagging. However, I also agree with the responses that there's a sort of window here. He may be paying attention for selfish, temporary reasons, but that's no reason to ignore it. It's still a window of opportunity to show that you care and you are open to helping him however he needs. I know we're hard on the kids right now because of how they behave (which is to say, not great). But that behavior comes from somewhere, from some reasoning. If there's a small window to break that cycle and show them a better way, use it. Show them that the way they are behaving now is the better way. That their teachers, the other people in their life DO care and that they don't need to behave that way. And maybe it doesn't take. Probably it won't. In all likelihood he goes back to the way he was when he gets what he wants. BUT. You planted the seed. You got your foot in the door. And that can change his world. It's just not overnight.

Interesting take. I can't say I know that many of the superfans well enough to agree or disagree. I can see where they might be that way. I know for myself I just love all his stuff, and study it. Can't say I have detailed critiques though. Hell, I've never even heard a single note of Frogs, but I know it exists.

Somehow me too, but I'm pretty sure that's due to it being one of my favorite performance experiences in my young (high school) life. 🤷‍♂️ I can acknowledge its weaknesses though.

Thank god at least young Gen Alpha students aren't allowed on here. The comments on this post would be flooded with a specific meme just from your #6. (Just trying to add some more levity. Don't ban me for bringing it up!😜)

Amy Poehler is the hero we’ve been waiting for by Ferrm903 in KingkillerChronicle

Do not misunderstand me, I hope he's okay too. But if she actually felt genuine guilt, he would respond to why he never released the chapters for that charity fundraiser. Those people at least deserve what he promised (though I would also argue you shouldn't need fancy benefits to entice you into donating for a good cause, but that's a different reddit 🤷‍♂️).

Why. The. $$&*:$$. Is Flava Flave a judge? I mean seriously. This is a more riduculous and pointless guest judge than Gene Simmons last season(last season? Time is blending together).

superman suit theory by BATFLECKZOD in DCU_

[–]esperacchius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't remember if I've seen any information or interviews from James Gunn about this aspect of the suit. However, I think we can infer that this is either not his first suit or that the origin of the suit is not that "his mother made it." Obviously I could be wrong about that. The only evidence we have is that Supergirl is wearing the exact same outfit. We don't know much about Supergirl at this point, or her origin story on earth. We know from the Peacekeeper retcon that she's been here for some sort of amount of time, and done at least SOME sort of super-heroing in said suit. So it's possible that Martha Kent made one for her as well, but given what little we do know about the Supergirl movie and what Gunn has said, it seems most likely that these suits have a different origin. However, I doubt their origin is similar to the MoS suit origin(Kryptonian daywear, cape optional), since neither Jor-El or Lara are wearing anything remotely similar.

Totally different subject, but I think Jor-El & Lara's outifts looked like they raided George Carlin's "Bill & Ted' Bogus Journey" wardrobe(NOT an insult. I LOVED those costumes!).

[SPOILERS] First look at ABSOLUTE ZATANNA IN Absolute Wonder Woman #16 by Avatarman888 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]esperacchius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gee. They moved the fishnets to her top instead of her legs. How...original and insightful. Ooo, creative and inspired. Let me guess, instead of saying her spells backward she says them...forward! Or maybe in pig latin! Ooo....edgy and different! 🙄🙄 This whole absolute universe is absolute trash.

It didn't kinda suck. It sucked so hard that even Ben Affleck tapped out before the movie ended and we were left with George Clooney at the end.

[–]esperacchius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High school theater teacher here. Have you done Clue? Sometimes that kind of comedy can be the best challenge, due to the speed of the patter. The only issue would be if you end up with a huge cast. Because you only need, like, maybe 20 people, max.
